Let's Talk About a Serious Topic...HIV (cont)


If you know someone has AIDS or is HIV+, and you have sufficient belief that the infected person had sex with others, and you have reason to believe that the infected person kept their a secret, would you tell the person(s)?

Is "sufficient belief" the same as proof? If it is then I would tell in a heartbeat. If it's 1% short of 100% proof...then nope. I would have to KNOW that the person is infected with HIV/AIDS before I tell anyone else.

Of course all that is out the window when it involves a family/close friend. I tell stuff now with less than 50% certainty. LOL

Yes I would. Black folks got enough problems of our own to be damn destroying each other over a disease. It's sad that black women are the highest reported cases of this disease in our community because of all this down low mess because these punks can't be truthful and tell these women they gay. I know I joke around on this board but when it comes to destroying my people I get offended. Yes I am pro black and I don't support anything destroying my people. Whether it's my own blood or friends. I believe in doing right!!!! The black women are the soul of our race and have been the foundation of our people staying strong for centuries and when we destroy her and bring her down because you are a chump you affect not only me, but generations of black families!!!!

BTW, Ceedy Deedy, a lot of infected black women contracted HIV/AIDS from their drug addict men, not just downlowers. :shame: I had a law clerk to die 14 years ago from AIDS, two months after her boyfriend's brother and one year after her boyfriend. Both those men where IV druggies. She was 24 years old and they were 23 and 25. :bawling:

Man I've got to agree with you on this. I have daughters and it is a big concern to me. These men that let other men stick a ickd in their ssa and shoot umc up in em is fine, but once they cross that line they need to stay there or at least let the female know that a ickd has been stuck in his ssa.

Not the main way but it's no disputing it. They are getting it by having sex with their male counter parts. We have got to stop blaming everyone else but start with blaming our own brothers to be men. Just like when Adam bit into that apple. God was mad at Adam because he was supposed to be the man and stand his ground, but he failed. The black man is doing the same thing today. When real black men stand up for a cause in our communities others will follow!!!! Men are suppose to be leaders and it?s time that the black man start showing he is a leader!!!!

Question: if a major concern in our women contracting HIV is because of the presence of DL men, does that mean it really IS a gay disease that is spread to straight people?
 
Sperm and CeeDog, yall are on it. i by no means think that that's the only way women are getting the disease, but it damn sholl is a large reason why....

I don't know bruh. I only go by what the researchers put out, but it does make you think.
 
Where is JagGrad with the answers to jag4life's question?...I know they have studies and FACTS on the ways women contract HIV/AIDS....here is my ANTEDOCTAL list, based on my clients who are infected and how they became infected:

  1. Husband/boyfriend was bisexual, infected and did not disclose their orientation or status.
  2. Husband/boyfriend was IV drug user and didn't know they had HIV/AIDS.
  3. Woman was an IV drug user and became infected when using a dirty needle.
Does it really matter HOW? I think not. What really matters is when someone is infected, KNOWS they are infected and has sex with a person without disclosing their status. It matters and it is a CRIMINAL ACT.

Folks are scared to speak the truth due to political correctness. Due to the increase in meth use, I would guess that the rates of IV drug use are not higher in Blacks than whites.

Knowing sources allows us to better focus education efforts and also allows people to take more precautions when there are clear indicators that a partner may partake in risk factors that are dangerous.
