Let's Talk About a Serious Topic...HIV (cont)


Well folks please get pass the "They dont even looking like they have IT" Thats how u get caught up.......Just Assume that everyone is infected and Protect yourself.......Its really easy.......

I find myself in a struggle sometimes because I know some of these fools are sleeping with people and not disclosing their status.....However its nothing that I can do...Legally..Confidentality is something......

ALLLLLLLLLL of my friends tell them about it but it does absouletly (sp) NO GOOD!!!!!! Folks are worried about bustin NUTZ not warning folks about what they are carrying around.



Hell there is this lady that I know from my after school program that hangs out with a pregnant lady that has the disease and she is still sleeping around. She informed me that the lady was sick just in casual conversation and was like she won't even take her medicine to protect her child. Now can someone help me with this because I don't know everything about AIDS but how is the medicine suppose to protect the baby????????

"HIV transmission from mother to child during pregnancy, labor, delivery, or breastfeeding is called perinatal transmission. Research published in 1994 showed that zidovudine (ZDV) given to pregnant HIV-infected women reduced this type of HIV transmission. Since then, the testing of pregnant women and treatment for those who are infected have resulted in a dramatic decline in the number of children perinatally infected with HIV.

Perinatal HIV transmission is the most common route of HIV infection in children and is now the source of almost all AIDS cases in children in the United States. Most of the children with AIDS are members of minority races/ethnicities."

The article does not state (nor does many of the articles written about this particular way of transmission) how exactly the medicine(s) work to keep the transmission rate lower. But the medicines given to HIV/AIDS positive moms during pregnancy have helped reduce the rate of babies born with the disease.
 
If you don't know someone and you care enough to have sex with them get tested. If they care they will get the test and btw go with them when they are tested.

Well speaking as a Christian, let me come to the defense of the Body of Christ. The "TRUE Church" has ALWAYS preached against pre-marital sex, (even if some of its members dont comply). And if anyone attends a church that does not, I would suggest that you get out of that church as fast as you can. The root of the problem is SIN. We sin whenever we are DISOBEDIENT. We are DISOBEDIENT when we do not want to hear or comply with what GOD says about sex. Oh yeah, we pay our tithes, we dont steal, we dont kill, we honor our mothers and fathers, etc... but when it comes to sex, we WON'T say no. It's not that we can't say no, WE WON'T say no. So don't you dare come on here blaming the Church, because you CHOOSE to gratify your own flesh instead of obeying GOD. If women kept their legs closed until the man said I DO and men kept their sticks in their pants until the woman said I DO, there would be NO STD's. Likewise, if homosexuals would not engage in sexual activity, there would be NO STD's. If married men and women would honor their OWN marriage bed, there would be NO STD's. But what do we do, we tell our young ladies that they are not a woman until they've had sex. And we are notorious for telling our young men that he aint a real man until he sticks about 4 or 5 women. AND "NOW" WE WANT TO CRY ABOUT THE SPREADING OF AIDS AND OTHER STD'S? I guess GOD doesn't know what HE's talking about. I guess... :wavey:

You sure about that? You could be married and honor your own marriage and/or relationship and STILL spread STDs.

I think he means if folks (men and women) would save themselves SOLELY for marriage and have only ONE partner... in life... as God intended.

True. But its sorta like saying there would be no problems in this world is everyone was perfect.
 
The issue is when you make mistakes horrible decisions the question is simple: what are going to do to help what you have hurt. There is so much more to HIV that people are unaware of and talking about it is the key. I wish I would have opened up about my status a long time ago.

Have you talked to the woman/women that pressed charges against you? Was there a reconciliation of sorts?

No I am not allowed any contact with them. Yet, I did have a chance to visit the former Assistant DA who is now a defense attorney and because the two ladies are not HIV positive she now questions a large percentage of their story. But that is neither here nor there.

Her problem was that why did both of them takes years to come forward, why did they say that I never practiced safe sex, how did they get the contact information of females I knew, and why did they post information on this site that was so much different from information they had provided to the police.

Did you get a chance to check on the HIV Criminalization videos?

Right now I speak about HIV/AIDS because to me it is therapy. I don't want anyone to make the mistakes I made. I think if I had someone to talk to all those years I would not have gone to prison. Because becoming HIV positive at 7 years old through a blood transfusion you want to hide it. But now I have channeled all energy to help people.

No I haven't watched the videos...I'm at work.

So the D.A. questions their stories now...I know you can't answer this but, I wonder if she's going to follow-up or investigate those ladies.

Wait...maybe I've watched one too many TV shows :emlaugh: but if I went to jail and the DA told me she now thinks I shouldn't have went to jail...wouldnt' I be able to sue? Or is it b/c you plad guilty that you can't do anything?

Well hopefully by you sharing your story and journy you are able to help at least ONE person that is struggling with living with a STD.

I accepted a plea agreement because based on the law I broke it early in the relationship by kissing and not informing my partner that I was HIV positive. I don't look negatively at the former Asst. DA because if it were not for that experience I would not be in the positive mind frame about the subject that I am in now. What I want to do is help others because to me the subject is not discussed enough.

For instance I read through each and every post above and when this subject was discussed long before my legal situation some of the statements were not made. So to me it could have been a good thing to someone.
