LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE: Cancel the remained of the season.

The recent penalties issued out by the NCAA are the results of administrative incompetence.
From the Universities Presidents on down some one has performed inadequately and has to be held accountable.
In short, some heads must roll. Evidently those persons who inadequately understaffed the athletic departments at the various schools with incompetent
personal should be held accountable and penalized or in some cases released.
This entire situation is an embarrassment to the conference.
Changes shouldbe made starting at the top (Presidents). This is pathetic and a disgrace and totally unacceptable.
Some heads must roll.
And to play in the in the tournament and not be eligible to attend the NCAA tournament if you win is a joke.
What should be done is to cancel all participation in athletics until this mess is rectified school by school.
This has to be fixed and done so immediately.
Texas Southern has gone through this and should be the model for the remainder of the conference.
When you don't know what you are doing asked someone who does.

Well said goodoctor but seems like most of your fellow su compadre's don't seem to agree. Winning at all cost seems to be the motto of the day.

The Board President Johnny Anderson who hired Greg LeFleur is no longer on the board. The President at the time Ralph Slaughter, no longer is the President. Edward Jackson and Lomotey are no longer the Chancellors at SUBR. Greg LeFleur No longer works at SU. So what are you saying Thegooddoctor.

Re: LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE: Cancel the remainder of the season.

Don't agree with canceling the remainder of the season. Changes made at the top, now I agree with that.

So why wasn't this information reviewed by the new compliance folks coming in after LeFleur? Did they have the responsibility of reviewing the information and documentation left by the parties that departed?

So you want to take it even further than the NCAA, not only do you want to punish kids in every program that had nothing to do with this but take away everything from them all together by not even giving them an outlet to escape the insanity.

You're really going over the edge with this and when did TSU cancel their season and stop participating in all athletics?

I'm not only directing my comments to Southern, but to all SWAC schools that are not adhering to NCAA rules and guidelines.
APB, Valley State, GSU and any other.
Regarding SU I would require a full investigation from top to bottom to determine where the blame lies.
And let me state the cuts in budget is not an excuse.
It's an administrator's responsibility to make the appropriate decisions to maintain a viable program. You get a budget, establish priorities and make a decision. Now if you want to
play politics than deal with the results. For the students to have to suffer and it's about the students not only the athletes but the students and those who support the UNIVERSITY is totally unacceptable.
I don't read where the other state schools violated NCAA guidelines and they also were subjected to the cuts imposed by our want to be President governor.
My question now is, where do we go from here, because if the records are corrupt then what's next, a financial penalty, forfeit of all games played during the specified time period?
And regarding the names of the administrators who have been removed they were appointed or approved by the board. Let's take a hard look at them.
Maybe it's time to look at being place under the board of the the other state schools. Held GSU are boycotting games, something is wrong and in my opinion it's starts at the top.
Man this is serious and must be viewed as such. Why should I send my kid to a school that cannot manage student's records? What else are they failing to do?

Re: LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE: Cancel the remainder of the season.

From how I read the article, all SU sports are banned from post season until they get all the correct paper work in, so if SU works overtime to in get this figured out before post season they are back in the fold.
You may say it can't happen but I believe that the administration owe it to the Athletes to work 24hrs to get this Done, They can't lay down on this kids when they worked their ass off to get here.

How long did the current admin know about this? Thats a key question in my opinion. Seems like they knew the SWAC would vote them in the tourney. This whole situation is eerie and more fraudulent activity will come to the light. Major cover up being done here and I'm disappointed but not shocked....

You're right they already knew about the results. Shid we're sitting here at the Zulu ball laughing our ass off at you fools.

So the intensive work that the current admin did was all a lie because they knew they would receive welfare from the SWAC?

Why in the hell are there two identical threads on the same topic?

Review what? The paperwork was already at the NCAA when these folks got there. Broussard didn't get new compliance folks until He got there in 2012. How can you review stuff that is already at the NCAA office? You are not comprehending. Do you think a new CFO at a company reviews paperwork 3-6 years before they took over their job? How many new CEOs go back several years before and review what the previous CEO did unless there is inquiry going on? Broussard didn't even know LaFluer and compliance had fugged up when he took the job. The NCAA was not saying the paperwork was no good in 2012.

Ain't no cover up. The SWAC is trying to make money on this tourney in Houston is all it is. Do I agree sending all teams? No. The current admin ain't covering up nothing. They are probably shocked at how the old admin fugged up the previous paperwork so bad. We tried to tell y'all it was bad under the last AD and we got chastised for firing him for looking for hoes in Houston. Now y'all see how bad it really was.

They didn't/don't wanna see that.

I agree. I can't honestly say with a straight face that I agree with any of the 4 schools going to Houston including my own. I knew coming into the year that Valley would not be eligible for the SWAC title in football and basketball and just rolled with it. To find out all of a sudden that you can now go to Houston and play but won't go to the Big Dance (or the NIT in Southern's case) is just asinine.

I would not be mad if any of the 4 schools in question turned down the trip to H-Town but as most can see this is just a money grab by the SWAC office and don't care about how it looks to the rest of the nation.

Southeastern had the same issues recently.

“Since this December notification,” the statement read, “Southern’s submissions have been incomplete or inaccurate at deadline.”-NCAA

They knew about this since December though frat, the ban was levied on Feb 27th. So I'm sure the SWAC and other presidents knew as well but kept a tight seal on it leaking out. Do you think the NCAA cherry picked Southern to investigate or what? How did this investigation come about in the first place? Honest questions, no smack.

I don't think they can decline. The information I got, they made SU Track teams go to the SWAC meet.

JR stop wasting your time trying to make very unsmart people kinda smart.

Sometimes I can see why some folks are they way they are. Makes you wonder what kind of decisions they make at their jobs.

Man we see the same thing every year from posters. They brag on what they have before the season starts and make excuses for poor season afterwards. It's nothing new here man so spare me with that crap you talking about. Even when JSU had bell posters was still optimistic about the season, its even like that with Valley year in and out. People clowned PB for bragging on Mickey Dean. I don't know about you but keeping up with what Southern does is not a top priority. Just seems fishy to me all of this is coming up again after it was supposedly cleared up. From researching seems as if Lefleur did some shady stuff to make the APR numbers boost. Thats seems pretty serious to me but who am I?

Call me un smart or talk about whatever else you want to discuss, no big deal to me. I will sleep and eat good every night comfortably and I hope you all do too. It still won't change the fact that something else is going on here.
