Lebron Irked By Bulls Hard Fouls

SNIFF...SNIFF... "I SMELL POOSAY!!!" LeBron should be thankful that he wasn't born about 25 years earlier. Would have loved to have seen the Bad Boys or the Celtics of the 80's get a shot at him. I bet he would think twice about going through the lane with his knee's out. Some players don't know how good they have it. Back then you weren't guaranteed that the foul would be called.

Nah they called those fouls. They were just committed more frequently back then compared to now.

AMEN! The Bad Boys dished it to Jordan worst, the Jordan rules remember. They commercial making, movie star players would have not survived in those times.

That stuff the Pistons were doing wasn't basketball, and Jordan complained about it, too.

If you have to commit all those hard fouls to try and be competitive then you don't deserve to win. To me constantly committing hard fouls shd not be apart of the game! And now if you retaliate or look wrong you get technicals or thrown out of the game.

What year were you born? :emlaugh:

And if you asked those Pistons if the things being done today were hard fouls, they would laugh and say, you have to be kidding. LeBron, and the guys today don't know how good they have it!

The coach should have put Lewis, Howard, Halsem and the Bird man in the game at the same time and we would have seen some real physical play.

They wouldn't have survived? Somehow Jordan averaged 30 or points per game during those years, and he wasn't as big or strong as James. Besides, teams play better defense now than in Jordan's era.

How do teams play better defense now than in Jordan's time? With the elimination of hand-checking and zone defenses in the NBA?

Defense is coached better, teams are scouted better and you have more players who can guard multiple positions on the floor. Sure, hand-checking has been eliminated and zone defense has been implemented. But teams rarely play zone defense. You might see it a few possessions a game, but teams more often than not play man-to-man. Teams don't play zone much in the NBA as opposed to college because there are too many solid shooters who will kill a zone.

Kendrick, you make some good points. But with the elimination of hand checking and physical defense, plus no big men in the middle to clog up the lanes, anybody with decent offensive skills in today's game can average 20 points per game. Could these guys score 20 per game if they were guarded like Pippen guarded Magic in the championship?

The gifted offensive players will always find a way to score.

I will go with the eye ball test. I'm pretty sure that better defense is NOT being played now. :emlaugh:

Thank you, tackling folks is not basketball.
