Someone other than us must feel the same about the talent in MS because on Jan. 19, 2004, JSU will be the host site of the "Battle Of The Boarders". The top three LA. high school teams will play the top three MS teams.
From MS it will be
Callaway
Lanier
Provine
From LA I can only recall one city school, and that's a school from Dennum Springs.

sop83, take it from me, the three teams from Louisiana in this "tourney" are not the top 3 teams in the State of Louisiana. The three teams participating are Denham Springs, University Lab, and Bonnabel.
Denham Springs and Bonnabel are in Class 5A and University is in 2A. I've seen Denham Springs and University play this year and if I had to put together a Top 10 in the State of Louisiana, neither one of them would be in it. Both of them have excellent big men (singular) and they try to feature them. Denham Springs has a 6'7" junior star named Tasmin Mitchell. He's good but his supporting cast isn't all that great. I saw them lose to a Lake Charles area team, Sulphur High. The same goes for University Lab. They have 6'8" LSU signee Glen "Big Baby" Davis. He's good but the jury is still out on his supporting cast. I've seen them win a game because the team they were playing missed 8 free throws during the last 90 seconds of a game and then the next day saw them lose to a Class B school.

What happened? lol.
I can't believe after all of this hoopla, these Jackson schools let some "better than average Louisiana high schools" beat them.
