Lakers News: LeBron James Not On Walt Frazier’s NBA Mount Rushmore

LeBron James has had without a doubt one of the greatest careers of all time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers.

This has led many to begin debating whether or not James is the greatest player of all time — usually when compared to Michael Jordan. The James vs. Jordan debate has been ongoing for several seasons now ever since James led the Cavaliers to beat the 73-9 Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals.

.....

“Curry was the only unanimous MVP. They should apologize to Russell and Chamberlain for what they did for the game and the dominance they had. Jordan is up there too well deserved. LeBron I don’t think is right up there with those guys. He’s not on Mt Rushmore. But, Jabbar, Chamberlain, Russell, Robertson — those guys were magnificent in what they did for the game.”

It makes sense that Frazier — who played from the 1967-80 NBA seasons — would only include players from his era of basketball, leaving off even Jordan. His argument for this grouping is those four did more for the game of basketball than anybody else.

.....

I agree with him about leaving him off but the four players I don't agree with. Jordan definitely would go up there over Robinson in my opinion

Lebron deserves to be on that list. He's pretty much dominated his era of basketball. More playoff/championship runs than any other players in his era & his fanbase is larger than theirs as well.

Bill Russell
M. Jordan
K. Bryant
L. James

So Bird, Kareem, Magic, did not dominate their era? I would not even take James over the other three you have listed!

Frazier is right
Lebron is not that good
Freakishly athletic but his style of play is not transcendent

Being 3-6 in the Finals is not dominant
Garnering tons of media attention does not equal dominance. It is simply fame

Why can't we just enjoy the current era of the NBA instead of consistently making these comparisons to bygone eras and players? The NBA is the only sport where this happens and it needs to stop.

Not true! People compare whether the 21st Century Patriots would defeat the 70's Steelers!

I'm talking about a constant conversation over years and years, not a one-time thing.

I am one to just enjoy the era's. Different athletes and different rules! But that conversation between the Patriots and Steelers is had more than you think!
