I never did follow the 4A games due my school(St.Augustine) playing in 5A. Has Peabody always had a good team?

Yes Peabody has always had a good team. Since the early to mid 70's and then on Peabody has consistently had a good team. About 75% of the time Peabody made it to the semi-finals or the finals in 3A, when 4A was the highest classification and now 4A.

Of course, I'll be there. We already got the tailgating goods. :D

Congrats to us!!!:jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:

What Jag89 said!!! We honestly didn't have our A game this game or the last one. We just ran the other team down.

We'll take the title though.:jump: :jump: :jump:

Peabody did beat Zwolle this year. It was in the Hall of Fame game at Peabody, but those games don't count in the official lhsaa standings. It wasn't even close. Score was 87-41.

Peabody and Christain Life played in a tournament in Nov. and Christian Life won 60-52. That was before Peabody move a few players to different positions.

At the end of it all, the most independent rating of teams in the state is Maxpreps, and they use a formula of who you played, who you beat, and who you lost to. Here are the final rankings for the state (irregardless of classification)

Louisiana High School Boys Basketball Top Ten '06-07

Notice that the top 3 teams and 4 of the top 8 are 4a teams. And Peabody beat all 3 of the others.

Congrats Warhorses. If I woulda known the title game was Sat, me and the crew woulda rolled on down to the flat.

And Peabody will be a beast again next year. We lose Simmons, and the Big Center (Rudy 6-9). But we have the MVP of the Top 28 coming back, (Desmond King a 6-6 forward, The best scorer on the team McNeil at Guard coming back) Our 2nd string center is very good and is 6-6 and will be a beast next year and we have a guard that I would have had starting that will be back next year (Micheal Horn), in addition, we got about 4 more F/C that are around 6-5 that can play, and a 6-8 kid that didn't get in the game Sat. Nite.

One of the things that made a big difference in the championship game is when WM went to the bench, there was a big drop off in talent and size. Up front, Peabody easily went 6 deep, and constantly kept fresh big men in the game with fouls to give. That took a toll by the end of the 3rd quarter.

Now I haven't seen them play, but we had 2 freshmen or soph guards that were 6-3.

We have already won 3 state Championships in the 2000's, do I smell, 4a team of the decade.

I thought you knew. We had a huge tailgate(pre and post-game) and everything. As always, the dome was ours. We were in there for 4pm and our game wasn't until 8pm. When WM got there, they were scarce on good seating.

Y'all should roll up for the victory parade/celebration next week. I'll keep you posted on the specifics.
