He can thank Baker Mayfield for the tens of millions he will get by being a top 10 pick in the NFL. Plus it shows how far MLB has dropped as far as attractiveness to elite black athletes (guaranteed playing time in the NFL as a top 10 pick versus not guaranteed to even make the majors as a top 10 pick (none from last year's draft and only one from the 2017 draft))

Murray wouldn’t have made the decision to enter the draft if he didn’t get a favorable pre-draft evaluation. If he gets taken in the first round, that would be more guranteed money than he would for his baseball contract.

I think you are wright.
But I just don't see a NFL team taking a chance on drafting a player in the first round that might not play football.

The situation with Murray reminds me of the guy whose father called a sports writer and said his son was thinking about “declaring”, and the guy responded, “declaring for what?”

The Brother should stick with baseball.

Peterman will not be long in the NFL. Plus I don't think anyone took him in the first round anyway. Peterman was drafted to be a backup and maybe try to be a starter. Whoever takes Murray will be rolling the dice. I don't think he will sign with anyone if they draft him lower than the second or third round. He will be calling the A's again. LOL.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. He can get more guaranteed money from the NFL and if that doesn't work he can still go play baseball. Look at how Tebow is doing now. He went to play football, didn't work out and did TV and now he's playing baseball. Murray is way better than Tebow in both sports and can have that option later on. The A's still retain his draft rights and may work something out with him to hold on to some of that money they paid him.
