Kobe Bryant not budging off trade demand

Stag Kobe was thinking was going to blow up like it did. He thought if he was the man he could still win in LA but now that everybody around him is bailing out on him now he wants out to because it is the organization fault. Kobe cant be a GM.

Oh well.
Guess his jersey will be #1 again because now people gotta buy a new number and team jersey.

And that's why the Jordan comparisons need to stop. He played with less talent than kobe and never demanded a trade. He got what he wanted so he needs to STFU and deal with it.

Jordan played with LESS talent?!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Crack kills the brain cells bruh!!

Well......................Kobe know's he has put them in a no win situation.

Buss and everybody in the front office know that the LAKERS ARE NOT in a position to get all the peices of the puzzle around KOBE NOW.
We talking 3 or 4 players with one of those being a TOP LINE PLAYER.
It ain't gonna happen in 1 year.

It's either trade him IF they can find a taker and a good deal, or be saddled with an UNHAPPY, MOODY, SUPERSTAR on a team that's already struggling.

It would be a bigger disaster to keep him now even if he is the top 1 or 2 draws in the NBA.

People seem to CONVENIENTLY FORGET that the Laker front office has had three LONG years and opportunity after opportunity to get Kobe some legitimate help. He QUIETLY waited for three long years and guess what, NOTHING HAPPENED as they promised him it would AFTER those three years.

Why are yall hatin on a Black man for holdin management to their promises? Isn't this what your union representatives do for yall who are in unions or do yall just let management crap all over yall?

This ain't no different, so for those of you who say that Kobe's out of line for publicly speaking out, well say that to those union workers when they decide to go on strike due to management's lies.
Some of yall may want to think long and hard about that before yall talk Kobe down.

Who's bailin out on Kobe? There first has to be somebody worth bailin for it to be a bail out to begin with.

If you call Dave Corzine and Brad Sellers better than any players on the current Laker roster, you have some issues.

If you called pippen, grant, kerr, paxon, armstrong, cartright, rodman, and the stutterer (forgot his name) lesser players than what the Lakers currently have, YOU have some issues.

I said Corzine and Sellers during the 85 thru 87 run dude.

Kobe: Lakers and I have different visions

Kobe: Lakers and I have different visions

Kobe Bryant implied again that he wants to be traded, writing on his Web site that "the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future."

The statement posted Sunday on kb24.com was the latest in a recent series of sometimes inconsistent comments from Bryant about whether he wants to remain in Los Angeles.
"When you love something as much as I love the Lakers its hard to even imagine thinking about being elsewhere. But, the ONE THING I will never sacrifice when it comes to basketball is WINNING," the two-time scoring champion wrote.

"The more I thought about the future, the more I became convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future."

Familiar ring...

Kobe Bryant's blog is creating another stir, but something's not quite right. A post dated June 17, 2007 in which the Lakers star apparently reiterates his trade demand is identical to a post on the same blog from May 30, when Bryant's trade-demand see-saw began.

Neither Bryant nor the team has commented on whether the posting is intended as a reinforcement of Bryant's position or simply an internet glitch.

Kobe sounds off

The 28-year-old Bryant, a nine-time All Star, has four years left on his contract - but he can terminate it following the 2008-09 season.

Bryant last month voiced frustration at Lakers management and publicly requested he be traded after the team was eliminated by Phoenix in the first round of the playoffs. Though he said nothing could change his mind, Bryant later backed off after speaking with coach Phil Jackson.

Bryant wrote Sunday on his Web site that the Lakers, owned by Jerry Buss, are not supporting him with players the team needs to win championships.

"The Lakers are pursuing a longer-term plan that is different from what Dr. Buss shared with me at the time I re-signed as a free agent," he wrote. "I have seen that plan unfold for the last three years and watched great trade opportunities come and go, and have seen free agents passed on. That has led to the Lakers not winning a playoff series."

Buss' spokesman, Bob Steiner, and Lakers spokesman John Black both declined to comment Sunday.

Buss, who signed Bryant to a seven-year, $136.4 million contract in 2004, issued a statement two weeks ago stating, "We will continue to pursue every avenue possible to improve our team with him as the cornerstone."

Man Kobe can complain all he wants, he aint going anywhere. If they are going to trade him they better do it before the draft. If he gets traded, I see him in Chicago b/c Chi-town has the best young talent in the league and they can help the lakers win some games. I am not sure if the bulls will part with Deng.

Negro......................Can you even comprehend what you read before you go on a Nutt riding tangent.:smh:

Actually, he did.
His second team just had Rodman, Pippen, Harper, Kerr, and Kukoc.

All those players, except maybe kukoc and kerr, were all-stars at one time or another. Even those two were at least average players in the league at the time.

Name one current Laker, other than Bryant, who's been in ONE all-star game.

Dude Mike played years before those players arrived. And didn't beyotch about being drafted by a sad arse team like Kobe did to keep from going to a half decent Charlotte team. He had to play for the Lakers. I am sure Jordan and Bird had teams they rooted for growing up. I am sure Zeke being from Chicago would have rather been a Bull than going to the sad Pistons. I am sure Clyde Drexler would have loved playing for the Rockets instead of going to Portland. But all these players went were they got drafted and did not cry on draft day to be traded to their favorite squad from childhood. They also led their sad arse when they got there teams to NBA Finals appearances as the lead guy on their teams. Kobe now wants out of his favorite team? I thought you ride out with your team win or lose. You and Kobe are just alike. Both are bandwagon folks. LOL. Now both of you will not be Laker fans anymore. So are you ready to be a Bulls fan now JayRob? Will you burn all your Laker gear if Kobe is traded?

You aint no real Laker fan like J4L, SOG, and Stagga are. They will still be fans with or without Kome :smh:

No winners in Kobe sweepstakes

No winners in Kobe sweepstakes

The Chicago Bulls had better be careful about what you're wishing for.

Don't pretend to be confounded by the wishing reference. The Kobe Bryant trade-me rollercoaster has reached another "weee!" point and ? unless you're a platinum-card-carrying Los Angeles Lakers fan ? you want to see him in Chicago.
It's the same combustion-potential philosophy that has you rooting for someone to put beer in the break-room vending machine.

There are myriad reasons why a Kobe-to-Chicago deal is a long shot, but we don't care about those. We only care that Kobe in Bulls work clothes would be quite a bit like Eric Cartman switching cartoons and taking over for Bart Simpson.

With apologies to Vince Carter and Harold Miner, Bryant is the only human who has worn the Michael Jordan comparison without provoking a spit-take within the basketball community. Kobe has had the ups, the skill, the Phil and the will to survive this scrutiny without completely buckling under the pressure.

But could he handle this comparison in Chicago, where MJ's statue presides like a mistreated watchdog flanking the United Center? What a hayride this could be. OK, it may be more like a runaway-train ride and that's what makes the possibility so compelling.

Anyway, despite Kobe's considerable skill and credentials, suiting up for the Bulls as their first post-Jordan superstar ? playing the same position ? seems as dicey as lining up next to Einstein at the science fair.

For the record, MJ is the greatest team-sport athlete in history. During two alleged closing runs in Chicago, Jordan willed the Bulls to a pair of NBA Finals three-peats (how much do we owe Pat Riley for typing three-peat?). He was the Finals MVP each time, not once surrendering the spotlight to a young Frenchman on the cusp of marrying some older network TV actress.

With the possible exceptions of Tiger Woods, Babe Ruth, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and Mickey Mouse, MJ has spawned the most "next" talent searches in American iconic history.

Unfortunately, something that smells like screaming fun for us to contemplate could turn into a deep Chicago mess. Please note that I have an extremely high regard for Kobe on the court. While team-related value is difficult to quantify outside of Tim Duncan, Bryant still checks in as the game's best end-to-end perimeter player.

But separating him from the Lakers would require the Bulls to nearly gut a squad which rivals the Cleveland Cavaliers as the best young team in a down Eastern Conference. According to the trade-speculation sharpies, Chicago would have to wave bye-bye to small forward Luol Deng, shooting guard Ben Gordon, someone else with a big contract (they wouldn't mind if it's expensive offensive liability Ben Wallace) and the ninth pick in this month's draft to acquire Bryant.

In Bryant, they would satisfy the biggest requirement on my flow chart of becoming an NBA champion ? the legitimate superstar. With the exceptions being the 2004 Detroit Pistons and 1979 Seattle SuperSonics, each NBA championship team in the leather-sneaker era has been dragged to triumph by at least one surefire Hall of Famer.

Rest of Story

"Listen young buck, you could never be like me."

umm....Ray Allen and his ability to see into the future says hello....*lmao*

:emlaugh: :emlaugh: :emlaugh:

This is sad.....really.... :smh:

Honestly, the Lakers are in such a state that trading EBOK might be the best long-term thing for the franchise...Regardless of where you're at, you've got to have an enviornment where younger talent is gonna be encouraged to develop at an acceptable rate. Nobody's denying that EBOK is probably the best skillset guy in the game. That being said, you've got to take a look at what hat means in the bigger picture.

for all of the bytchin' and moanin' about EBOK's supporting cast, you've got to put those guys in a position to develop their games. That ain't gonna happen when you've got the offense running through a guy that dominates the rock like EBOK do. The rest of the squad effectively becomes observers when he has the ball in his hands on the offensive end because he has carte blanche to freelance whenever he wants (which is ALOT) outside of the offense.

I take a look at Cleveland this year and see something completely different; LeBron's essentially a PG in a PF's body; The offense running through him is not only effective frome a team standpoint, but it's given some of the Cav's younger talents (Daniel Gibson in particular) to flourish and grow in a supporting roll...

they may have gotten swept by the Spurs, but the development of those players are gonna make them that much tougher to deal with in the East.

The only way LA can salvage this situation via Free Agency is to land a big-time PG, or a Big man that the triangle can run through. That ain't gonna happen because no squad in their right mind would deal some of the younger talent they have. That brings us back to player development during the season, which is the problem EBOK and the gang have now...If the franchise could wipe the slate clean and start over, now would be the time...

Unfortunately, it's gonna get alot worse before it gets better...

Lakers don't appear ready to trade Bryant

Lakers don't appear ready to trade Bryant

LOS ANGELES (AP) - While there seems little doubt Kobe Bryant wants out of Los Angeles, the Lakers don't appear ready to make a move.

"I think we've made our position clear on that publicly and we have nothing further to say on the matter at this time," team spokesman John Black said on Monday.
Black referred to a statement issued by the NBA team owner Jerry Buss on May 30, which said in part: "We will continue to pursue every avenue possible to improve our team with (Bryant) as the cornerstone."

Buss issued the statement after speaking with Bryant. The day before, Bryant first said he wanted to be traded during a radio interview, but seemed to backtrack on another interview after speaking with Lakers coach Phil Jackson.

Buss and Bryant met last Friday in Barcelona, and while the Los Angeles Times and Riverside Press-Enterprise quoted sources as saying Bryant still wanted out, Black declined comment other than to say: "Our position is what was said at that meeting between the two of them will remain between the two of them."

Buss, owner of the Lakers since 1979, recently sent a letter to season ticket-holders regarding the team's desire to be successful.

"We received about 1,000 e-mails expressing concerns, opinions and frustrations," Black said. "Dr. Buss wanted to address the matter himself."

Buss said, among other things, that the Lakers had made the playoffs in 26 of his 28 years as owner, but added: "We all want more."

Rest Story

The latest twist in the Bryant saga involves an amateur video of the nine-time All-Star denouncing general manager Mitch Kupchak and teammate Andrew Bynum.

Lakers spokesman John Black said the team was contacted about the video before Bryant first requested to be traded on May 30.

"It doesn't change our stance at all," Black said a day after saying essentially the same thing ? that the team has no plans to trade the two-time defending NBA scoring champion.

"These people called us about a month ago, they told us they wanted to sell it, we told them we had no interest in buying it," Black said. "That's the end of the story. There's been no further contact between them and us."

Kupchak declined further comment, saying, "I think enough has been said."

A spokesman for the men trying to peddle the video to media outlets told the New York Times they were talking with Bryant when one decided to take a photograph and some video, but they didn't believe Bryant was aware they were filming.

According to the Times, the video lasts 24 seconds ? an interesting coincidence since Bryant wears No. 24 and his personal web site is www.kb24.com.

The Lakers passed up a possible opportunity to acquire star guard Jason Kidd from the New Jersey Nets at the trade deadline in February because they didn't want to part with the 19-year-old Bynum ? a 7-footer taken with the 10th overall pick in the draft two years ago.

"Are you kidding me?" Bryant says in the video before using several profanities in adding that the Lakers should "ship out" Bynum.

Bryant also spoke in negative tones about Kupchak. Bryant called the Lakers' front office "a mess" in a radio interview the day before first making public his desire to be traded.
