JUCO Signing Day Updates

Proof? Dude has mentioned nothing about PV since he posted that they offered him back in November.

If he is talking about that JUCO LB. Dude said he was happy to have his SU offer still with the changes. That was his last tweet about himself. The rest were some of his boys heading to UAPB and other places.

The only football recruit SU ever lost to PV was that Brown kid from Lake Charles. Stump messed that up lol. The only team in the SWAC that we have lost a recruit to that we offered a full scholarship was Alabam St. I don't count folks SU offered to walkon or a partial and other teams offer full rides lol.

Bama State signed a very good crop today. Lost a couple but got most of the ones targeted from what I can tell. There are still a few days left for this signing period. @Bewildered , I was expecting a few more signees for PV. Was it that one OL that signed, or did I miss some? Thanks for the kudos. Hey, It's all about being competitive, but also realizing that we ALL must get better and be able to compete OOC. We are getting there. Some will be left behind.

We vastly improved our talent with the JUCOs, FBS transfers, and prep school enrollees. Our challenge is to hold onto our commits in Feb. We saw yesterday, other schools will not stop trying to flip committments. Players today love attention.

All I know is SU has been in a steady decline since 2013....

How can we be on a steady decline when we actually had a better regular season in 2014 over 2013. We lost to JSU and Alcorn in 2013. We only lost to Alcorn in 2014.

Yeah that is a hard core practice with the flipping. Yes the players do. LOL

Thanks. And to be direct... I'm talking about Laronzo Davis.

Who?

lol.....

SU had more talent than any team in the SWAC and what I said was backed up by the all conference teams as SU had damn near double the next closest team.
BS!!!!

As for your having "more talent than any team in the SWAC", Alcorn didn't win on some last second hail mary fluke against SU. They whooped yall 48-7. Ran for damn near 500 yards. In Baton Rouge. If you left that game telling yourself that yall were better, then ummmm....... ok.

So what you are saying is keep an eye on your APR right?

Nope. APR is fine. Those kids were academic as heck that he brought in. Even the kid we got rid of had damn near a 4.0 GPA. Just was a locker room issue. Tillery is one of those type of academic kids now. 3.8 or 3.9.

We are fine on that front.

Alcorn is in SU's head. You can have talent and not win. Barlow's teams had helluva talent and didn't win.

Or, SU just isn't anywhere as good as yall seem to be fooled into thinking.

We know what our team is. Obviously good enough to beat the majority of the SWAC. I could understand if we struggled with the weaker teams and got blown out by everybody we lost to in the conference. Alcorn was the only one to do that. PV and Gram were games that were winnable and Big Worm clearly got out coached in. Leads in both of those games. With chances to increase them. Those 2 losses fall clearly on the staff.

JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State football program inked Justin Blue a 5'8, 194 pound running back from Southwest Mississippi Community College, its first signee of the Tony Hughes era on Wednesday.

The Brookhaven, Mississippi native rushed for 555 yards (61.7 ypg) and four touchdowns for the Southwest Bears during the 2015 season. Huges, who was announced as JSU's head football coach on Monday, is widely regarded as one of the top recruiters in the nation.

While at Brookhaven High School, Blue recorded 1,853 career rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry and 61.8 yards per game. As a senior he rushed for 1,108 yards and 11 touchdowns on 146 carries.

I call bullshat, unknown1! SU is the most talented team in the SWAC and here's their record to prove it:

West
Standings Conference
1. Grambling State 9-0
2. Prairie View 8-1
0. Southern 6-3
4. Texas Southern 2-7
5. Arkansas-Pine Bluff

SU had a 67% win % in the SWAC. On the campus of SU, a 3rd place finish in your division actually means 1st place completion to them. To the rest of us normal folks outside of SU, a 3rd place finish is just that... 3rd place. Put your SU hat on man and you'll come to understand the illogical wilderbeast of SU knowledge. THAT is why my username is... Bewildered because trying to speak logic to these people will leave you.... bewildered. @ SU, they count like this.... 1, 2, 0, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9... :D

No but 2nd place surely seems to be something to celebrate for yall. Will yall buy rings and hang a banner or have a parade? You should.

Scheme. Alcorn has Worms number. That's why he made changes. Has nothing to do with talent. Plus a tropical storm was going on during the game. SU couldn't pass in that.

So you don't take your coaches word. He said SU was by far the most talented team in the conference. Scheme beat SU, not players.

Barlow's teams had Barlow. He relied too much on his assistants. Hopefully het gets more experience as a position coach somewhere else.

Southern dominated the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference football team Wednesday, as 11 Jaguars were selected including five to the first team.

No other team had more than six overall selections or more than four first-team selections.
That's wrong

uuh, because JSU sucked in 2014. A Comegy-led JSU would have ran ya'll out of Jackson and GSU was in year one of a turnaround. ..More importantly, ya'll got ran out of Houston by Alcorn.
