Yea she was the assistant director my whole stay in "Tha Sounds"....in turn is why you saw the steady improvement of the Band from the years of 97- to the beast of 99.

I hated to see her leave that program...it hasn't been the same since that year.

The whole collapse of the program isn't due to her leaving, we lost alot of talented section-leaders & members that year, she was a big part of it though.

I still remember the last game against jsu...when we broke out that Isley Brothers....something sweet...dem flutes, nets & saxes did a wonderful job...THAT BASS LINE was grooving too.

Ah...the memories

Yes we did lose some good Talent but the Class of 99 was VERY TALENTED.When she left the band things CHANGE. That FIRE that she HAD and STILL HAVE left with her. Now Trust Me WE(SOD99) Tried to Keep it there But the Chief wasn't having it and it seem that every year the Chief gets softer. You see SOD don't do "Super Soul" anymore along with Other Arragements. Like "Out on a Limb". You would just have to be a FLY on the wall to REAL understand

*sidebar* The "super soul" selection wouldnt happen to be when the Drums are playing;the Crowd/Band chants "A... S.... U.... SUPERSOUL" etc?
If so, I havent heard that since, hmmmmm Heck I dunno, the 90's.... back when my Mother was a die-hard braves fan.
That SUPERSOUL used to have the fans into the Game and inTune with the "SOD".... (what happened? :noidea: )

Yea I know, do you remember when a big girl or somebody else would be laying back on a dance routine move & she'd come out of the stands & execute the move with high energy.

Man that use to be funny...seeing a band director show up some young buck:D

Yeah you are right about that, SOD continues to have too much talent for to be held back like they are considering the situation they are really doing good.

Well you guys almost had Dr. Thomas out awhile back. But the Late Great Dr. Washington gave Dr. Thomas his vote of cofidence and Alcorn went back to the top.

Hope it works out for you guys. I hope that your Alumni President knows how to turn up the heat to meet your demands.
