What, you wanna take credit cause we had a couple of Sippians?

:smh:

And for goodness sake, just let the Bell farce ride and don't even attempt to justify it or say that Bell is a good coach.

Haaaaaa! This is a true sign that the hiring of a loser by an idiot over there at jack@ss-sue U has really evaporated what was left of your brain!

That's funny, because I noticed the same about j-sewers over two years ago as it relates to AAMU! I guess we're even, huh?

NT I tell you what......lets work together to keep each other off each others thread!.....Im serious.....

anytime I see a thread relating to JSU I will not post on the shat......anytime anyone from JSU sees a thread about AAMU dont post on it!......lets "IGNORE" each other

if you down! holla at me

were EASTERN DIVISION CHAMPS what business we have talking to yall anyway!

mh

Would you have even been competive without Ricky Jones? What about those RBs from Lanier?
And Charles Northern from Vicksburg....
I could go on and on.....

Lil Jag

The answer to your question is yes. Lets put it this way...he cant do any worse. Lets look at it this way, if he improves us by just 2-3 games a year, we are looking at 10 wins seasons, and SWAC championships.

Here is another way to look at it

I could have coached JSU to SWAC Championships over the past 3 years. Now we have someone that has a clue about what he is doing. GET READY.....things are about to go back to the way they use to be.

All I can say is I hope 1-9 works out to be better than 7-4, because you best selection is still coordinating for your arch rival. If that alumni rises up and puts the President in his place and fires Thomas, don't be surprise if your best candidate don't become your worse enemy by coaching your arch rival.

Is there one final McNair graduating soon? Is he headed to Alcorn to be with McKenzie? Hmmmm?

Remember, Will 1-9 bring in his own staff or will he keep the same people that coached the 7-4? If so, I guess we will really see if the problem was at the top or not?

PEACE!!!

GR Let's not get PARANOID

Now, now GR, let's not get paranoid. I've got roots in Mississippi. My Jacksonian friends are not satisfied with the hiring of Coach Bell. And deep inside neither are you.

And good brother, there is no comparison between SU hiring Oliver and JSU hiring Bell.

You guys are miffed at the action of Culberson, and you should
be. Trust me, WE FEEL YOUR PAIN. Don't worry, it's gonna get better. When, we don't know, but all of us alumni of the SWAC have gone through the valley. That's the way it is sometimes.

It is times you are about to experience when you think back to the good old days. The days of Willie Richardson, Jackson, and Payton. The times of W.C. Gordon. The days when JSU was feared on the football field. Thinking back to the good old days will get you brothers through this.

In the mean time hang tough. Forget about SWAC championships and focus on being strong as you pass through the storm.

See you in October. I'll bring a crying towel.

To the JSU MAFIA, be strong.).).):bawling:

I'll bring the bible for them.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: JSU better pay the refs under the table or they will be faced with a 1-9 season :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Noise, I made an offer to you several days ago, because I realized the issues JSU had with GSU and SU before we joined the SWAC. If I could use the term they treated you all like stepchildren, but do to the fact that this term is no longer politically correct I cannot say you all were treated like stepchildren, but let just say treated like isht. You could have joined the DAWGPOUND by forming a new alliance with AlSt and AAMU, but you refused. So don't start crying now or do you want to rethink the offer. You and JSU need the DAWGPOUND because the pressure is on your coach. We have a lot of experience in this area so think about it because we can help you to save face.

Mike Bigg and those SU folks are not going to allow you to live this down.

Well, from our last visit to Jackson, we know they will definitely pay the refs to ensure they will win... But, we can overcome that just as we did in the prior years. It's time to bring things back to the way they are suppose. Bridges and Vernon will lead the way on offense. ;)

Dude,

Bell is going to win us SWAC Championships because he has the basic football knowledge that Hughes never had. We should be ten times more technically sound as a football team in 2003. Our AD is going to make sure the Bell is a success. I think Bell is a good choice. I think we could have made a better choice but I would tend to agree with my AD and take a chance on him rather than any other any other coach currently in BCF.

TP,
There were other coaches out there that didn't coach in BCF. What about those brothers from Texas A&M's staff that got let go with Slocum. There are alot of brothers who who would take the chance of coming from 1A to 1AA for a head coaching job, especially knowing that they may not get a chance as one on that level. Just have to hunt them out. And also offer some decent money as well. I feel ya though. Stick by Culberson huh? Hmmm, you are the only one. The homefolks in Jackson are pissed. You know it's bad when I walk into the barbershop full of JSU people and they don't even feel like smacking me about JSU beating SU, because they are so pissed off at your AD. Any other time I would have caught hell at the crib. Thank goodness for Culberson. :D

BTW, you know Bell is just using JSU to get another job as a 1A assistant. So even if he does half decent at JSU, he will be trying to get out of JSU as fast as he can, especially if Culberson leaves. I see a Cooper situation about to happen all over again. Good Luck.

That's all I'm saying. There was at least one better choice. I never said this dude wouldn't have any success.

JR,

Culberson and Mason were aware of Kevin Sumlin from TxA&M. He would have been hiigh on my list. I am not happy with what has happened and I will anxiously await August 30th. However, Culberson wanted to hire someone that he could control. Culberson could not control Hughes. Culberson cannot control JSU alums. The only way Hughes got to coach in 2002 was that he agreed to fire some people. Culberson never wanted Asberry to coach the offense but Hughes did not want to go outside of this staff and and he did not want to go outside of the JSU family. Hughes put a limit on what we could accomplish because he was looking out for his own. I think Bell and Johnson are going to put together a dymamic defense. The offense has the weapons to be lethal for the next 5 years. We have a young o-line, young WR's, young RB's, and two very promising QB's waiting in the wings behind Kent. Hughes was far too lax as a coach for me. If you read the quotes by players at the end of the season, you will see that many were saying that 7-4 was good. If you heard the SU broadcast on BET, you will see that Hughes told the kicker that it was okay to miss. I think Bell is going to get in some people's arse and bench some people if needed.

I also think that Bell is going to improve the defense and special teams even more. Hughes was not even a great recruiter. We got recruits because we are JSU. I am looking to Bell to at least TRY to tap into the Jackson talent and with Johnson, they might even tap into the TX market more than ever before.

That is the thing that I noticed looking at his background.

http://www.clarionledger.com/news/0212/24/tjsu01.html

He has spent some time both on the high school and college level in Texas. So, he should have some ties still around, especially in Dallas/Ft. Worth (James Madison HS) and now from the Houston area (Cesar Chavez HS). There is a LOT of talent in those two areas and a lot of speed. This could be a plus for the program in 3 years or so, especially if he can recruit good in MS.

Keep in mind Alcorn, somehow has been recruiting good, and now Totten is doing it right in Valley. His recruiting is only going to get better. Richardson has done well stealing one or two good ones from up there about every year or so. So, recruiting is going to be critical and winning impacts that significantly. If he doesn't win early, the alumni will be on him heavy and the recruit want come as easy.

PEACE!!!

Uuuuh SU folk

All these good BROTHER candidate names that you are giving is very impressive. Heres a hint.....WHY DONT YOU GO OUT AND HIRE ONE OF THEM. Your offense sucks.....Your defense sucks....Your team sucks....and your coaching staff sucks. We are improving on 7-4 while you guys are stuck on being mediocre.

This really amazes me. You guys are acting like SU really has everything under control and you feel the need to help us out. Memo to SU people.... WE BEAT YOU BY 3 TDS . JSU had 6 TOs and we still embarrassed you.

So why the hell are you so concerned about our coaching situation. This really baffles me. Why are you so concerned about us improving? Why dont you call or write Pete and tell him to hire one of those brothers from A&M instead of that sorry ass whiteboy that he is sticking with. The same white boy that caused you not to score over 20 points until you played PV. Seems to me YOU guys really have more pressing coaching issues that us. But then again, you are about fall right back into your normal spot of the 3-8 season and you love it.

Like I said earlier, you guys wont know that you need another head coach until the white dude from the Advocate tells you so.

JSU will get the athletes we need to win the SWAC every year because we are who we are. You can not recruit in Bama to win the SWAC. Even when Bama State finally won the SWAC, they were lead by players from Jackson MS. Bama high schoolers dont go to HBC because of the mentality of the Bama folks. You can see the submissive attitudes of the Bama folks on this board. Hell I think they would rather for a big time recruit to go to Bama or Auburn instead of their HBC.

Does Bell have enough talent returning?
Come on man, you didnt mean to ask that question. Say it aint so.
once again I can agree with Get Ready about MOST of his post, but you got to realize that recruiting with Alabama and Mississippi is MUCH DIFFERENT... The Mississippi University are not big time names (Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss)... Jackson State even plays in the largest stadium in Mississippi (correct me if I am wrong). Those schools just dont have the following or tradition that Alabama and Auburn has so yes it would be easier to recruit against those schools than it would be for AAMU to recruit against Alabama and AU. Alabama stadium can hold Ole Miss and Mississippi State stadium put together. D1 college football in Alabama is just way more important and has way more tradition that D1 football in Sippi... I GUARANTEE you that JSU couldnt get NO player that AU or UA was recruiting.

See what I mean....

Actually, Tim Manning was recruited heavily by AU. But im sure you meant we couldnt get a player from Alabama. Ill ask Larry McSwain or Albert Stinson if either one of the Bama schools wanted him.

when I am wrong I will say that I am wrong... I just had never heard of these players... I did research and both of you are right.
