JSU set to announce new men’s basketball coach on Monday

Jackson State will announce its new men’s basketball coach on Monday at 11 a.m., according to a press release just sent out by the school.

All indications are that the job will go to Callaway coach Wayne Brent. Brent’s name was the buzz throughout the season as a possible successor to Tevester Anderson, who retired on Monday after spending 10 seasons as Jackson State’s head coach.

Brent wouldn’t comment on the job when reached on Friday evening.

We gonna beat the brakes off the Braves. Luther had that team going downhill by the end of the season. He is gonna need to keep bringing in talent down there to keep up. Brent gonna beat ya'll but so would Anderson had he stayed. Anderson went from almost last in the SWAC to #4 over all and a #2 seeding in the SWAC tourney by default. Where was Luther? Luther had a better team that Anderson last year but Anderson got his team better while Luther stayed the same or got worse.
