The 1992 thru 1999 editions of the “Sonic Boomâ€￾ were the sorriest editions ever. :shame:

Maybe this is what happens when there's a 'slow day' in Band-Land.....

On another note, ol TMizzle is in that '90 clip. :D:D

T-Made, is this UAPB on the field? If so, why did yall have to do them like that? I guess the Boom has always been a bully band.

That first clip sounds great but you have professional quality video compared to home video.

^^^^ that's one way of finally admitting to all them L's from SU in the 90's... kind of a cheap way of saying it... but I guess...

Man I remember that Motown special.........love to see our black college bands represent.....whoever and wherever it is on a big stage.

Trp, you have to think about your audience and where YOU are coming from. Most people may not remember how good a band was musically. Now, you can look at it many ways. I think musically, JSU was much better musically in the 90s (1990-1997) than now but we didn't play as much rap back then. We stuck to R&B. However, when a lot of people talk about JSU vs SU, they talk about the field shows as well. You have to be clear on what a person is talking about when they say "who got who". In the 90s, the BOOM had better field shows than SU did on many occasions...namely 90, 92, 95, 96 and 99. Actually, the 1990 and 1996 editions were the best ones to me. That has nothing to do with the battle in the stands which I think you lean more toward. Stand battles became a bigger deal in the late 90s and they are a much bigger deal now. In 99, ya'll killed us in the stands especially in Jackson but both field shows went to JSU. The field show in Jackson was close but ya'll ain't even try to give a decent field show in Bham. I recall being bored to death in the stands at halftime by both bands in 93, 94 and 97 but if I had to, I would give '94 to JSU and '97 to SU. I think SU did a gospel show in Jackson in 1993 so when JSU got on the field poppin and dancing, the energy had been sucked outta the crowd by that confusing SU show. We were like, are we supposed to be praising God one minute and then cheering humping the ground the next? But I will also say that I didn't really like the 1993 edition of the BOOM too much. They were "aiight" but they BOOM bounced back in 1994. I think most will agree that the 1998 BOOM was probably one of the worst of the decade especially at the beginning of the season (we had band and J-Sette trumoil that year). I didn't make that SU game but I heard that SU totally destroyed us but the band and the J-Settes improved after that to totally kill Alcorn by the last game of the year. The Grambling game was a key turning point of the season.

And I think if we went year by year in the 2000's, you would see similar results. Sometimes, SU will be better. Sometimes, JSU will be better.

lol.. you see that huh juke? It never fails....lol

LOL
What's more funny to me is how the 2000's Liddell band was better than the 90's. I have to disagree there. As far as quality, they were a much better band than the 2000's JSU. And the walking on the field wasn't as bad. lol

lmao @ "the walking on the field wasn't as bad"..

I agree, they walked with much more pride back in the 90's.. But I always say... you can only tell a lie for so long until you get tired of telling it. You can tell the truth for ever.

Our truths about SU ain't never change...

Trp, what "truths"? huh? The only things ya'll ever say is ya'll ain't never been gotten the better of. Not only JSU but others around the country always say that year in and year out that JSU and SU are the top bands in the SWAC. Ya'll don't wanna hear it. All you want to ever hear is SU is the best and you get upset that people put JSU and SU on the same level and YOU hate that. There are several times from the 80's thru today where JSU has gottin in your azz and times when ya'll have got in ours. Why is a subliminal message needed to say that?
