SU offense was not a problem. Chad can recruit as well. Just quirky personality. That will the thing for him.

I had someone else in mind for the job... didn't know Hughes and Germany were cool. Talk about blind sided lol. Well, idk anything about Germany but I have faith that Hughes will do what he can to improve our program.

Well I am not upset by the hire. SU has been pretty good on offense. Also he was their Recruiting Coordinator.

Didn't really want anyone from another SWAC school, especially SU. He has done SU wonders on offense tho. If he gets the job done and done the right way, I'm cool with it. No point in crying over spilled milk. I jus want to get back to our winning ways and win championships again.

Which seems to be what Hughes is going after, guys that can Recruit. We have a bunch of recruiters on staff so hopefully that translate into some much needed talent especially on the defensive side of the ball. Not a bad hire but definitely an upgrade. Chang was horrible.

Also as much as we (SWAC alums) all gripe about having SWAC folks on our various staffs. You do need to have someone who is familiar with the conference on your staff. Sometimes bringing in a totally new group who has no clue or idea about the conference, they kind of come in with the thought process that it will be easy to win just because they came from a bigger place or a different conference. Not like Chad has been in the SWAC for 10 years. Just about 4-5 years and he has an All SWAC QB, WR and RB damn near every year. Definitely will help with the QB situation.

You sure about that? Hughes and Chad are pretty tight. Could have been smoke and mirrors. You got to remember if the JSU street committee was hearing bigger names. Like TP said, yall were not going to write 200K checks for them type of assistants. Some of them would probably want more than some FCS schools are paying Head Coaches. Hughes don't have a blank check to hire anybody he wants I am sure. None of our coaches do.
