Re: JSU finds their replacement for Trey Johnson

Only a few of them were ignorant and some gave credit about trey johnson. Illinois has been some what of a power house in the big ten for the past 8 years. Check the records. Bill self just bounce on us and ole bruce cant get the best players.
hopefully, one day we might use this as motivation to beat them instead of always saying f them!!!!

Re: JSU finds their replacement for Trey Johnson

EVERY BLACK PERSON DON'T HAVE ASPERATION'S NOR OBLIGATION TO ATTEND A HBCU.

There are actually some people that WANT to go other places.
Valley could have promised her a bedroom in the President's house as her dorm room.

If she don't won't to go there, there is nothing Valley nor YOU could do to change her mind.

thank you, I see somebody has some sense.

Thank You...........Jay Rob sometimes I see your point but your way off on this one. If you follow Jackson basketball and how well it is played in they city.Think about how many players we at Jackson State lose to Valley and Alcorn. Not cause we haven't done a good job of recruiting but because off top they are tired of being in Jackson. A lot of kids just want that away from home experience even though Valley is up the road maybe she felt more comfortable there then at Delta St.

As long as the majority of black athletes continue to think that white is right, the HBCU will continue to be a has been.

I see a few people on here keep saying that and what makes you think just because a black kid decides to go to a pwc he/she is not pro black. Most people who go to HBCUS wanted to go to one since they were a child. Every cat that is in college now or about to attend was not born in the sixties. I don't believe my generation sees it as a race issue.

You need to read with understanding, no one say anything about kids being pro-black or anti-black.

For one I did read with understanding I should have chose better words. I think anyone can understand the message I was trying to convey.

Its not aboout being Pro Black, its about being competive!!!! If the kids from our schools where Pro Black they would be doing everything in there power not to get there butts kicked by the uncle toms of the white schools... but we get killed year in and year out!!!Back to the point, we need to evolve our programs into modern styles, and let go of our traditions...

We don't have to let go of our traditions if JSU, SU, Gram, FAMU, and Tenn. St. move to a better conference "together". The SunBelt conference is the "only" conference that will be willing to give these 5 a serious look. These five major D-1AA programs would now have the neccessary "conference" resources to compete with the rest of the football world. A potential JSU schedule in the SunBelt could look like this.....

JSU vs Florida(1A money game)

JSU vs Tenn. St.(Classic)

JSU vs Troy

JSU vs Famu

JSU vs Louisiana Laf.

JSU vs Southern

JSU vs Louisiana Monroe

JSU vs Gram

JSU vs Florida Int.

JSU vs Michigan(1A money game)

JSU vs Alcorn(classic)

Royal how do you think these things up.

Re: JSU finds their replacement for Trey Johnson

Royal how do you think these things up.

Last year I asked the SunBelt's commissioner about the possibility of JSU moving to the SunBelt, and I told him JSU was not happy with the SWAC. His reply to me was "he is very familiar with the SWAC and he and Vowels are good friends. He also stated that he heard that all members of the SWAC are happy about their situtation and JSU hasn't contacted the SunBelt." I immediately replied that this was certainly not true. I don't like to read too much into anything but it sounds like JSU would have to make the first move in contacting the SunBelt and the commissioner would take it from there. I did my part and passed the information on to Dr. Mason hoping he would do the sensible thing by contacting the commissioner to see what they have to offer........thats good business. If Dr. Mason does his part by contacting the commissioner then he could compare and make a better decision about the future of JSU athletics. I do not support JSU making the move by themselves. The move should include the other 4 schools I mentioned or it won't be a success........thats fact.

BTW, I understand that we're D-1 in all other sports however, a change in conference/resources should do us justice and get us over the hump.

Is this your opinion or did you hear this officially out of Coach Braddy's mouth. How are you speaking behalf of the school like that. Yeah some of the leadership in the administrative offices is bad and the direction is not on track but to speak for the university is out right stupid. Yes the SWAC as a whole need improvement but to go out and tell other people in another conference about what is going on in house is just out right messy.

This would be a dump move. Unless half the SWAC went with us to the Sunbelt we would go broke in the Sunbelt.

Yeah, its stupid to go out and tell others what they already know. Its so dayum messy that even a blind man can see the pizz poor quality of the SWAC. Dude, who do you think the SWAC is fooling.......an idiot? Everyone involved in athletic decision making know about the daily operations of the SWAC. What I did is no different from what the fans did to James Bell and the athletics department at JSU. They set a 2k fan attendance record at the VET and I was one of the 2k fans in attendance......it hurt.:bawling: The SWAC is at the bottom of the pile and can't go down any further than it already has. Its no secret that those who are able should get out why they can or continue to dwell in siht forever. I spoke as an alum/supporter and there is nothing wrong with calling someone out on poor direction.

BTW, Supersport 930AM did a sports show last year and publicly broadcasted that JSU should join the SunBelt. They even called the commissioner of the SunBelt and asked him what would JSU have to do in order to join the SunBelt. They aired this over the city of Jackson and the co-host is a JSU alum/supporter......Travis Gordon.

The only way you can go broke in any conference is by lack of support. I just don't see where JSU would lack in that department.

So as I said did you speak with Coach Braddy (AD) or President Mason(President) and they said they wanted to leave the SWAC or did you speak as a fan? What's the old saying. "The grass may be greener on the other side but the water bill may be higher"

Dude, you have to ignore Royal Blue.....totally!!

Also, our moving to the Sunbelt would not be a dumb move but there are other options out there AND I think a 1-AA HBCU conference would be better than the Sunbelt if you got the major players involved. However, Royal Blue spoke out of turn and without authority. Shame on him!!!

Someone has to give RB the authority to speak his mind? When did this start? :what: :what:

Re: JSU finds their replacement for Trey Johnson

Royal Blue is a dreamer. I like that. I am 99.9 percent certain Jackson State will never join the Sun Belt, but I can certainly understand why he dreams. I use to be like him, until I met reality....

I personally have not talked to Braddy but I did express my concern to Mason. I spoke as a fan and the grass is currently brown nor is there a patch of green in sight. The weeds have taken over and dust is everywhere. Its been like that for years and as a fan I think they should hire a new landscaper. Having said that, the grass is greener on the other side.

It's no problem being a dreamer and maybe I am looking into this too hard but to go up to a conference in which we say we would like to join (even speaking as a fan) is real unprofessional to say the least let's say we would love to join the Sun Belt the first think the commish thinks about how he heard grumbling while we was in the another conference the first thing I would think would be what faith do I have they won't do the same to us if we have any stumbling blocks in our conference. Thats all I am saying

Re: JSU finds their replacement for Trey Johnson

I'd rather stay where we are and help the SWAC get better than join a 3rd World D-1A conference.

Re: JSU finds their replacement for Trey Johnson

We have beaten our share over the years.
I say F-Them because JSU is actually getting players to pick US over "THEM" now.

The above doesn't sound like a fan talking; sounds like you are the Athletic Director. The Sunbelt commissioner should have ask you who are you?
