I think I know his father, we talk all the time, but I don't recall his name.

Good list, I guess nobody jumping up and down since Hughes still there, huh.
 



I'm glad to see a couple of my homeboys are headed to JSU (Amite High - Formerly Libert High, my school, & Gloster High).

It is also cool to see the Skyline High kids on the list. More Dallas/Ft. Worth kids playing HBCU football. Skyline has a tradition for speed.

Dude, that is why the Peach State Classic was beneficial to us. They have a lot of talent there and with all of those High School teachers, coaches and band directors from JSU, we could have made a living on Atlanta recruits. The BOOM really gets a lot of people from Atlanta.

Overall I think this was a down year for ATL talent, there seemed not to be as many signees as in years past. I believe SWD only had 5 or 6 from what I read. Some of the other schools around here didn't have their usual signings either. So actually we did good to get one, especially a kicker. But I do think we did let a couple get away esp. a RB who went to Troy St. :(

Boy, you know I just went South Mississippi on you until I read the just joking part. What you were saying may be true today, but you know Liberty brought the heat in my day ('81-'84). I always said if they ever merged, Amite would be super hella. What happened, ego go in the way and some of best coaches were run off and the one left were not assigned to coach their best sport. I've been pissed every sense. However, I've heard there has been some really talented kids play there. But, I think the coaching is keeping them from running stuff like the pass.

But, you know I got excited when I saw Amite and missed that LA behind it. I'm real aware of where Amite LA is located. I use to play them every year in basketball. Guess I'm still looking for the positive behind that merger of the 2 schools... Oh well.... It was a good thought for 24 hours... :-) Liberty has had our talent, in my day, go to LSU, MVSU, Alcorn, etc... I just didn't recall athletes going to JSU, as bad as some of them wanted to. :-)

But, hey, thanks for bring my oversight to mind.

I'll have to hit my grandma up for those cakes and pies cause I don't cook ;) As for the Woodville students, my dad had mentioned 2 kids but only one signed. Let me know what's up with that one. Boy,you'd better stop while you are ahead. You know that my dad and I only hold true to the Gold and Blue:D We'll I'll fess up that my dad went to Valley for a couple of years; but, he bleeds Gold and Blue. Been following the jags since he moved to Baton Rouge in '66. He's now an Honoray Jaguar and a bonifide member of the Jaguar Nation!!!

You're talking about Brent Thomas from Pebblebrook. My son broke him off somethin' a couple of years ago when they played.

That kid was 4A player of the year in the AJC. I don't know how he ended up at Troy State.
 
Yeah I know..He never seemed to be really big on the 1A schools. Last fall his choices were UGA, Clemson (I think) and maybe Troy or someone else. I know for a kid with his potential something was up if they weren't knocking his doors down. I just personally feel he didn't want to go there. I think if some HBCU's had been on him he would've gone.

Man how about the dude that always checks me out a Kroger signed with Bowling Green!!! (South Cobb) I was looking in the MDJ and saw his picture and was like :eek2: I didn't even know he played ball. I missed him.....:redhot:
