Johnnie Cole Nails Himself to the cross


If I remember correctly, wasn't he involved in going with some of his football players to a strip club? If so, I wished that question would've been asked. LOL.

And I agree, but we can fry him, but when the white coaches do it, we come to their defense!
 



Im not buying the "well white coaches do it too" defense to excuse Johnnie Coles' actions . If you don't know by now that white folks play by a different set of rules in America then i dont know what to tell you. I bet not one of the folks bringing that up want their school hiring Cole. He's left every school he's been to worse off when it comes to his baggage. None of us should want HBCUs risking their reputations just to give this man another chance when he's already had several.

That could have been avoided for many schools if the then commissioner had acted on a suggestion some 10+ years ago. The remedy was delivered on a silver platter and ignored.

My last statement on this thread. Most of sTu lobbied and welcomed this fellow's return to lead his alma mater's football program. We had heard the "rumors" but most of us ignored them and wanted to give him a chance. So before some of you drink too much of the coolaid there is a reason many sTu faithful have taken the stance many have taken. He had an opportunity to do what he now claims he wants to do and he F'd it up...royally. And he did it at his alma mater no less...the place that he has two degrees from and that "nurtured" him (per him). Many of us gave a lot of money to help him hit the ground running.
There is an old saying...You do not sh*t in the plate you eat.

But I did NOT know he coached at Lane, Southern, and Tennessee State.

I remember when Cole got that job at the school in Fort Worth (middle or high school). I thought surely that would be a place where no kind of controversy would take place. I was wrong. I think it’s surreal that just about everywhere this man goes, NCAA violations or controversy or unethical conduct or inappropriateness follows.

I’m gonna try & follow your lead and try to let this be my last post on this thread.

I’m glad TXSU gave JCole a chance. I believe in giving chances. Sometimes people tend to take on a whole new behavior and mannerism when they’re in a different climate/atmosphere. I don’t pretend to know or speak about TXSU and its alumni, but I’m guessing a lot probably felt Coach Cole would have a totally different mindset of him ensuring things would be done by the book since he was “at home”. I’m pretty sure the TXSU alumni thought he’d use his opportunity to set an example/standard of the correlation between athleticism and academia. Instead, he wasted the wonderful opportunity his Alma mater bestowed upon him and nearly brought TXSU 🏈 to ruin.

I understand how those TXSU alumni felt and still feel. It’s bad enough when someone from “the outside” does this, but it hurts like h3ll to the 3rdX3 when it’s “one of your own”.

What exactly did he do?
 
So he never tries to cheat or he never tries to get caught.. and when he gets caught, it's hell on a program. But it was all by mistake... smh yeah ok.
