Jerry: DeMarcus Ware might not be with Cowboys next season

Jerry Jones said Monday evening that there’s no guarantee that defensive end DeMarcus Ware will play another season with the Dallas Cowboys, Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Ware is scheduled to count $16 million against the salary cap in 2014 and the Cowboys likely can’t afford him at that price. If Ware, 31, is going to remain in Dallas his contract will need to be restructured or the amount of money will need to be reduced.

“There’s no question when you are where we are on the cap, even though we’ve had some new cap space added, and you have a defensive player that’s your highest paid defensive player, and he hasn’t been on the field much the last two years, that has to be considered,†Jones said on ESPN’s SportsCenter. “You can’t have it all.â€

If Ware does leave and whatever team he signs with, I bet that team would have good chance of winning the Superbowl.
 



This shat reminds me of the Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith contract situation in the 90s. JJ unloaded the bank for Aikman, but didn't want to pay Emmitt shat. Emmitt sat out those two games and the Cowboys lost both. JJ paid Emmitt his damn money after that.
 
The Saints are thinking about using the franchise tag on Graham. It wouldn't be a good look to pay DE a grip.
 
DeMarcus Ware is my favorite Cowboy(athlete & off the field impact) and has been a great ambassador for team for years. i'm very surprised this is even being considered my JJ, however, he might be better appreciated elsewhere.
 



Ware hasn't been healthy in years. While I love the guy, it may be time to blow that defense up and start again. I would rather let players go early, than keep them too long.
 
Rumors has it that Ware is about to be release. If true this will rank up there with the Romo contract and Jimmy Johnson firing as the worse decisions in Cowboys' history.
