Javancy Jones leave of absence

“Over the summer she went completely paralyzed, she was in ICU, but she's started back breathing on her own for now,” Jones said in an interview last week. “She was paralyzed for life, they said. Right now, as long as she stays, every time she sees me on TV, she gets happy, she sees me grinding no matter what. I never let her see my head down. I use that as my motivation, no matter what’s going on, what you’re going through, you’ll always see a brighter day.”

During our 21st Annual City-wide revival held 2 weeks ago, one of the sermons was about how our blessings are connected to our parents and how we care & treat them throughout our lives. Reading this story made me think of that sermon. There's no doubt in my mind that, because of this, God will honor this child (Javancy) and will bless him abundantly in his efforts on and/or off the field. Man says one thing, but God has the final say in everything; I pray God's blessed assurance and peace of mind for his mother.

This has been a struggle for him his whole college career. He turned down a couple of FBS offers coming out of high school to stay close to his mom. This summer, things kind of took a turn for the worst. I went to JSU with some of his kinfolk, too. Definitely in prayer for him and the whole Jones family.

wow, this really bites, prayers for him and the Jones family. I dealt with my mom going down while I was in school, but I wasn't an athlete and it's tough. I hope he has good support for him in this time.

Prayers up for this young man and his family! Obviously a lot for him to endure seeing his Mom go through this. I hope she can make a turnaround and get better and Javancy can return to the field soon.

Prayers up for the young man and his family. I know what he must be going through. When I was a freshman in college, I lost my then only brother to bone cancer. It was the most traumatic time of my life. I would leave school and go to the hospital each night hold him, pray and cry. He was in so much pain. I used school to escape and cope. When he died, I lost my faith at that time. I just could not understand why God could take an 8 year old child. It took years to regain my faith. Even after all these years, it still pains me.
