I see SU has gained the services of a UT back. Before you start slobbering over him he was not that great to begin with. Only thing I remember him for is a kickoff return for a TD in the Holiday Bowl.

This kid could not even crack the UT starting lineup when Ricky Williams left. That was the year UT's running game was sorry. Next thing you know, some hotshot freshman comes in out of the blue and takes the top spot.

So you are getting a kid who has never really done anything in the Big 12. Sorry.

GSU, concede the SWAC West title now. There is a big 12 guy in the conference now

I think he is bright skinned - nevermind

Thanks for that info. Be sure to keep us informed if this young man progresses throughout the season.

It'll be a soap opera over there, all those other kids vying for the RB spot and we'll see if Pete is going to hand him the starting job because he is from the white school.

Remember Marcus Jacoby.

It's supposed to be a soap opera. If he can play, he'll get the nod. I remember Jacoby. We won a couple of Championships with him. And he was white.:swink:

TBF,

Yall need to start offering up some scholarships so yall can get some of these transfers. It makes no sense for yall to refuse to give athletic scholarships (oer recommendation of TxA&M system folk who emphasizes athletics like a mutha) when you are located in a state loaded with high school talent.

This kid bypasses you to come to SU that doesn't even have a ground oriented offense. You PVu folk need to get with the program...Oh by the way, you're right: SU is desparate, they know another azz whipping is coming to them in the BC!

Panther Fan,
Help me out, don't you have to drive right by Praire View on your way from Austin to Baton Rouge. Bet he did even slow down when yall were trying to flag him down on the hiway.

Pete has always favored a balance offense. If anything I would say he favored running over passing. Remember 1000-yard rushers Scott, Williams, Wofford. Last year a rash of injuries hurt the running game. This year running game looks just as promising as the passing game. With the addition of ?Vic Baby? from Texas, Gerald Holmes, Iowa St., Carl Singleton, Bo Jackson return off injuries, and some highly touted props coming in the fall the rushing offense should be among the SWAC best.

I think he is bright skinned - nevermind

What kind of skin he has TBF? Not that anyboby but you gives a ufck

have you ever thought his release says he cannot play football in Texas? There are several 1-AA schools who consistently make the playoffs in Texas every year and would die to get a player like him. He was forced to leave the state.

Casey Printers could not play at Prairie View, TSU, or any Texas 1-AA school because of this.

Beleive me, LSU will start doing this and you all will get no one.

Plus, why waste a scholarship on some guy who has not proven himself? He could not win the spot when there was no competition in 2000 and he lost a spot to a freshman in 2001. Man please, you all see he's from the white school and jump over him.

Us Texans know he's damaged goods.

if someone makes it as a walkon on at UT, he probably better than anyone on your sorry team.

The only reason yall won't be beggin them to come is because you don't want your white DADDY (Texas A&M) to back hand you for talking to thier enemy.

washed up or broke leg

It doesn't matter if he has a broke leg or is washed up SU will beat that Panther bootay again.

See you in Houston.

You ever thought Victor Ike might have a Louisiana connection. His cousin Derrick Ned played at Grambling. So he is familiar with the SWAC and knows Grambling has a 1000 yard rusher returning. He may have figured his chance to start was better at Southern. The 1-AA Texas schools probably were never in the picture, especially Prairie View. Southern and Grambling offered him what no other 1-AA school could guarantee. A opportunity to showcase his talent on National T.V. in the biggest event in 1-AA football, the Bayou Classic.

Say what you want but averaging 30.4 yards on kick returns is nothing to sneeze about. That is bringing them back against 1-A kickers?not these kickers in the SWAC that have trouble reaching the ten yard line. If he can duplicate that average in the SWAC we should get the ball around midfield on kick returns. Don?t get worried ?Vic Baby? will not average too many kick off returns per game this year. He had a disappointing year as a rusher but didn't really get a shot after the 1st game. He did manage to make All-Big 12 as a kick returner.

Got this off a Long Horn web site:

A versatile running back who enters the fall as the Longhorns' top backup at tailback, Ike was consistently explosive in the spring, posting a 20-yard play in each of UT's scrimmages. He is a solid runner and receiver who is working to improve his consistency in blocking schemes. The running back had a good spring as a kick returner.

In high school, Ike was a two-time first-team all-district and all-Centex performer. He rushed for an AISD record 1,742 yards and scored 30 touchdowns on 183 carries in just 10 games in 1997. Also that year, he had six games of 200 or more yards and two games of 300 or more yards. Ike ran for 344 yards and eight touchdowns vs. Round Rock Westwood in 1997. In his senior season, he returned a punt for a score and tallied 178 points. As a junior, he rushed for 1,612 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Ike finished third in the 100 meters at the 1997 5A state meet and won district titles in the 100 and 200 meters as a junior. He recorded bests of 10.22 in the 100 and 21.4 in the 200

Somebody explain why a kid needs permission to play in the same state. If they give him a release why would they care. Maybe I can see UT not wanting him to play in the Big 12. Why would they care if he played at 1-AA Texas schools. If he went to Stephen F. Austin or Sam Houston what kind of effect could he have on UT? He only has one year left. Somebody Ike knew put him in contact with SU. For all we know he could have some homeboys at SU or some relatives. If UT made him sign an agreement to leave the state then the PWCs in Texas are worse than I thought.

PF,
LSU doesn't care about SU getting their players if they are considered not to be important to them(LSU) anymore. That's how they think. They are arrogant like that. Maybe it's a BR thing. Hell, LSU was the ones who gave SU info to help Hayes re-apply for his extra year after the NCAA had turned him down initially. They could have said nothing or that they had no info to be found. The only way LSU will give a damn is when they schedule SU and we start beating them in Football. And we both know LSU isn't going to play SU no time soon.

That's why I hate Texas A&M so much. Look at how they do your school. I bet Slocum never tells a kid transfering to give PV a call. At least Pete and LSU have some type of courtesy situation going on. Maybe because SU isn't just hovering around begging for players to transfer. We are the last thing on Saban's mind. BTW where did Casey Printers end up? Did he enroll at FAMU?

Excuse me, but is the kid you stated PV recruited this year half as good as this so called Washed Up kid? NOT!!! Does PV have anybody that could make a Big 12 team? NOT!!! Yes, he is light skin - just like Levy, correct? NOT!!! Man, get your blind eyes fixed with that new surgery. I don't know if he will start this year at RB, but I would strongly expect him to be starting at kick returner. Remember the likes of Jerry Guy? If he is at RB, do you remember the likes of Ryan Lewis? Stop ya hatin' with your jealous butt. Get over it and start giving football scholarships at PV before you get the boot from the SWAC. The Eddie Robinson, Mario Casem, W.C. Gordon, Paul Covington, etc.. of the SWAC are gone. No one is there to keep the only original SWAC school in. Get up to the plate or the new schoolers will be kicking you all to the curve.

PEACE!!!

PF,
Washed up? That's quite an understatement. I would think that getting beat out by YOU would possibly make him washed up; but, getting beat out by Cedric Benson??? Your smack is getting funnier and funnier. Washed up because he got beat out by Cedric Benson:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

JR,

Yes, Casey enrolled at FAMU. His mom said that he went down there and fell in love with the place and decided to cancel his remain campus visits. I wish him well (especially since we won't have to face him!!!).

One more question to whoever has the answer. The press release sated that he got an unconditional release. What's an unconditional release? Unconditional to me means that there were no conditions to his release. I would think his release would be conditional if he were restricted from signing in the state of Texas. Help me out on this and please explain.

uh, don't know what you read but from what I saw, Printers could not go unless he left Texas.

He would have probably attended Sam Houston if he could stay in Texas. They rely on QB transfers now and the last one they had just got through playing in the senior bowl.

SU, didn't you all have Nemessis Bates? He was supposed to be so good and bring you all more titles than the law (oops, bad play on words) allowed. He was such a great kick returner and last I checked he did nothing at SU and the titles are still awaiting.

Washed up? That's quite an understatement. I would think that getting beat out by YOU would possibly make him washed up; but, getting beat out by Cedric Benson??? Your smack is getting funnier and funnier. Washed up because he got beat out by Cedric Benson

He could not win the job in 2000. Remember that? He couldn't beat out Hodges Mitchell and Kenny Hayter. When he did play he did nothing, Mack Brown went out publicly and said we need a running back. So don't act like this kid was the man at UT.

Lewis, a walkon at UT is better than someone at PV.
I'll mention that to Bobby Perry next time I see him, you all would die to have him in your backfield. Maybe you wouldn't have got beaten somany times by our receivers if he was there.

Fool,
No one said Bates was supposed to win titles for us. We had already done that. Problem for Bates was he got hurt and of course fellow LSU transfer Michael Hayes overshadowed Bates and almost single handed brought SU a title in 99. Remember you were in the stands in B-ham when Hayes destroyed JSU's secondary. What was his stats that day? Nevermind. BTW Bates has a SWAC title. Thought you knew that.

Oh yeah answer the question that MOMOF2YM asked. What does unconditional release mean? We 're just asking. Like Mike Bigg said, PV needs to worry about getting them some transfers like that. I bet you guys don't dare talk to any Texas A&M player who leaves College Station. Doesn't Daddy Slocum approve. ~snicker~ Hell you would think PV has the inside scoop when an Aggie leaves. Oh well you just better hope Victor Ike doesn't run for 200 yard on yall after Bo Jackson or Marcus Newman kills you first.
