jackson state was the 1st to offer emmit smith's son

I get your point and being from Texas I know you understand where I am coming from. Private schools are raping inner city schools of athletic talent and it did not just begin. If an athlete gets hurt at a private school and can no longer produce and cannot afford to pay his or her own way....public school here they come. I have seen it many times.

All depends on the private school. My son playing at one in Dallas and a couple of his teammates have quit and just finishing out as students. Tuition/Financial aid doesn't change for them though. I'm sure some schools though are like "uhhhh, see ya".

Because it's the truth. And it would literally take segregation again for it to ever be true again.

We are in Trump's America. We are heading that way if he isn't impeached before Congress turns blue in 2019

Racists being bold and showing their true colors has caused a spike in HBCU enrollments that's likely to continue but it just hasn't transferred to a spike (just yet) on the recruiting trail with the 4-5 stars

Also DAHILL is right to a certain extent. All those years LaGrange High was dominant in GA, they took all the talent from the other 2 schools in the area. Half the players on their team weren't even in LaGrange's school zone. When the city started deading being able to attend there unless you could prove you lived in that school zone their program has been dead ever since and Callaway, where most of those kids were really supposed to be, took over and started dominating them.

I seriously don’t think it will trend, regardless of what negativity occurs on pwcu campuses or in this country. This genre is greatly programmed.

I really dont even think it's about being programmed. When a kid is at a certain talent level they want to compete against other kids on that level. Not to mention the fact that these schools are playing in front of 100K every week with facilities that rival the pros (and even better in some cases). On prime time tv weekly and a chance to play for a championship. Hard to make an argument against that when the only counter argument is you should come here because you're black.

I totally agree. Another thing, is the money factor, whether we like it or not. Do you have a shot at the pros coming from an HBCU, of course you do but these days these dudes and their families know that going to a bigger program gives them a better chance to make that big pay day........IF you're one of those players with that type of talent. I do miss the days of Jimmy Smith, Steve McNair, etc......but unfortunately I don't think we'll see those days anymore when the HBCU conferences were loaded with 1st and 2nd round NFL talent.

I believe it is the programming that's occurring. Athletics... academics.... what's the difference? The alleged "superior" STEM academics @ Berkley, Stanford, Purdue, MIT, IIT, et al is far far superior to anything that's occurring @ HBCUs so why did some of us HBCU super-STEMers shun those allegedly superior schools in lieu of choosing our respective HBCU, which doesn't/didn't have the same computing power, notoriety, $$$$, facilities, backing, et al? Those name-branded schools attract the best of the best of the best so why shun them and allegedly settle to compete against those who are allegedly inferior matriculating @ a LR HBCU? Athletics, academics, what's the difference? Same prevailing mindset, imho, and it starts and ends w/ being programmed.

I'm a living witness that if one is TAG, one will be found by entities who direly want/need your services and THAT entity will continue to invest in you because you are providing (will provide) a skill set they need for their future viability, regardless of where you matriculate. Also, the HBCU should provide the required growth/training to augment a TAG skillset. Doesn't Big State U do the same? I'll wait. :)
