I'm gonna ask Woody at the luncheon Monday why he doesn't use Pittman more.

Curt,
There is no reason to ask. They are going to say they will work him into the game plan, and nothing will change. Look at Frost for example. If we head a real OC, we would be deadly. Shannon will have a field day with our team if he had Frost, Haw, Simpson, etc.

Haw is running and now we have another flag on the play. I bet we have more flags during this one game than we will have for all year.

Shannon was Jackson State's offensive coordinator in the mid to late
1990s he was OC for James "Big Daddy Carson". He was good at using talent in the passing game. He is now offensive coordinator a Division I-A school.

Shannon received two prestigious awards during his stint at Jackson State. In 1999, he received the Division I-AA Offensive Coordinator of the Year by the College Football Association of America. In 2000, he received the I-AA Assistant Coach of the Year Award by the American Football Coaches Association following a terrific 1999 season. The Tigers finished third in the nation in total offense that season, piling up more than 500 yards of offense per game. The Tigers posted a 45-11 record over Shannon's final five seasons at Jackson State, the best mark in Division I-AA.

A 1976 graduate of Eastern Illinois, Shannon played four seasons for the Panthers as a defensive back from 1972-75. He began his coaching career in 1977 as a tight ends coach at Western Kentucky, where he also earned his master's degree in 1978.

Shannon and his wife, Sally, have three sons, Justin (25), Benjamin (24) and Colby (21).

John Shannon

Hold'em Defense!!!! The Darkside Defense does it again!!!!!

3 downs and a cloud of dust for TSU offense.

TSU is going for it and they didnt get it!!!!!

At least Woody could have the offense disciplined. We have double digit flags in every game. How many holding and motion calls have we had tonight? We can't beat a good team this way.

Maybe not Frost but certainly Pitmann. Shannon was not a big fan of using a TE....Asberry liked using TE's. Shannon was big on fullbacks whereas Asberry was not. It appears that Woody is not big on either. :(
