Jackson State vs Northwestern State: Game Updates


I have to admit this might have been the best performance of the Bell tenure. Even better than the two games that we won last year. The Northwestern team was ripe for the taking. I would like to hear Bell's reason why he didn't go for two after we pulled to 21-19. But it didn't matter in the end. The running game should have been scrapped early because it was no factor.

For the most part Brian Green looked pretty good. I would like to see him in the shotgun more. As usual there was some suspect play calling on offense. But I am sure Bell will put that on someone else.Those two plays called to end the game were awful. You would have to have been there to understand.

Some of you on here might take some solace in a close game but no cigars. Personally I don't. This one hearts bad.
 
It was still early in the 3rd when we got within 21-19, but we should've gone for 2. Going under center for that last snap was also foolish, and Green should've looked to Cletis on the left side for the fade route. He was covered one on one the final 2 plays. I don't take solace in a close loss, but I am heartened by the way this team fought.
 



I am certainly not finding a moral victory out of this game. I'm mad we didn't win. When we pulled within 21-19, I definitely would have gone for 2, even midway through through the 3rd quarter because there were no guarantees that we would get back down there. And when the "D" immediately forced another punt and Cletis returned the punt to inside the NWSU 30 yard line, the place was rocking. But nobody saw that flag that brought the ball all the way back to our own 30.

There were WAY more positives than negatives in this game. The boys have to build upon this game. They should know that they can beat anybody they play. They just have to play.
 
I know that I'm late and all but I just want to say Big Ups to JSU's football team. They really woke up in the second half. The crowd was really into the game as well. I haven't seen the Mafia that crunk in a while.

Oh yeah, Get Ready and his crew talk a lot of shat but they've got hella school spirit. lol

Heck .............. I'm just glad they showed signs of life in the second half. Even with the "mess up's", that's the hardest I have seen them play in a long time. :cool:
