In order to support your conference you have to support your own FIRST... and we all know what school lacks "support" from their own.

GR is just happy that this game is not in Bham. GR just bought tickets last night and TGO is already down 500 bucks, but anything is better than Bham. GR surely hopes the MEAC office is in control of the events and not the SWAC office. If any of you were in Bham for the basketball trny, you know exactly what GR is talking about.

Bham is the sorriest city in the world and the SWAC office is full of the most incompetent administrators in the history of planned athletics. They both deserve each other.

Do you guys think its possible for the SCG to be moved to Orlando too. We can not CAN NOT have this game in Bham again. Anywhere but Bham.

It was announced today that the Walt Disney World Resort will serve as a presenting sponsor of the MEAC-SWAC Challenge, an ESPN Regional Television (ERT) owned-and-operated event, featuring teams from two prominent HBCU (Historically Black College/University) leagues -- Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). This year, the event moves to Orlando and will showcase a college football match-up between the MEAC?s Hampton University and the SWAC?s Jackson State University on Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, Aug. 31, live at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2, from the Florida Citrus Bowl.

also what is your definition of "support"..... showing up at a football game is "support"?
 



Please refer to the context of the conversation on what kind of "support" we are talking about.. This thread is about a game between one of our conference's teams against a non-conference opponent... so we are not talking about "financial support".

BASICALLY: You think we expect you to cheer for our team if you don't even cheer for yours!??!? LOL

It is funny though that a school like that would be the LEADER of the coalition.... dayum...

Wait NT... I get it now. The reason "THEY" don't support the SWAC is b/c they SUPPORT the OVC.
And if "THEY" don't support the SWAC that means they don't support their own...... :smh:

funny how ONE person can say something and its a "coalition".... honestly I could give a damn who wins the game.... just like Im sure you could give a damn who wins the AAMU-Tenn State game that night. Cee Dog said "Go Pirates".... he's a grown man and speaks for himself.

That's true, but if I'm at the game, or if someone asks me who I'm pulling for, I'm going to say AAMU. I'm more compelled to root for a SWAC team than against them when they aren't playing JSU.

I just think it's funny how a lot of the Valley and Alcorn fans that I come across root against JSU at all times when I tell them that if I had it my way, Valley and Alcorn would only have one loss every season.

I can't speak for NT, but I rooted for Alabama A&M to beat Tennessee State last year and will do the same this year. I rooted for Southern against Florida A&M last year. If Alabama A&M was in the challenge I would root for AAMU over Hampton. Where is the SWAC pride? :smh: I guess that's because your school doesn't have much history in the SWAC. But many JSU fans have come out in support of other SWAC schools in playoff games and NCAA tourneys.
