JSU we got work to do

I'm not MAD at J-State......but our play calling to start with was suspect. We'll ok by midseason but with the speed we got..RUN OUTSIDE and USE THE TIGHT END D-MMIT!!!!

It's only the second game....let's take this 1 point loss and go from there.

Now if we had gotten blown out....I would be looking like this :mad:.

I'll gauge my perception as the season progresses......:)

I aint gone lie. This loss hurt like hell. I thougth after we scored in overtime that is was OVA! But then, here comes that fluke QB flea-flicker that gave them the extra yardage on 2nd down! :smh: If we stop that play for a loss, we win the game..hands down! :mad:

Oh well....at least I discoverd that Jimmy Oliver is going to shut some people up this year. That guy is so damn elusive! :nod2: :tup:

He cant throw worth a damn though... He doesnt even look to throw.

Oh yeah..it hurts like hell because it was so CLOSE!! :upset:

But I was pleased with some things I saw compared to the previous years. ;)

The only reason I agree is because he has a lil boy body. If he gets in the weightroom... gets on some weightgainer he will be ok.

He's been the same 170 pounds since Highschool. He's not getting any bigger. We have to do a better job of keeping him out of harms way. Because we have nothing behind him.

From what I saw today.. JSU wasnt putting him in harms way... he was putting HIMSELF into harms way. He would scramble when there was no pressure on him.. He acts as if he wants to be a running back.

But it will all come together..............Just gotta be more consistant.
2nd game against a real team.

We'll be alright.
 
I kinda like what I saw tonight. I'm not worried about Oliver. He reminds me of a smaller Kent with alittle more ability to read defenses. He'll be all right. We need to use Pittman, Giles, Kennebrew, and Frost alittle more though. But, all in all, I really believe that we will win 8-9 games this season.
 
Hell to comeback from 20-6 and lose 31-30 in OT on a botched Ex Pt play is some indication of what we have to work with. That's a plus.

I loved what I saw in Oliver in the 2nd half.

Get Frost into the game..............He was killing with his blocking, and run, run, run.

JSU looked much improved and will be my pick to shake things up in the east!!! Both the SWAC and the MEAC will be upside down before this season plays itself out!!!
 
If $90,000 buys you an offensive play caller (Woody) like the one we had tonight, we need to go back to the drawing boad. I didn't see a whole lot of improvement outside of the punter. He has a leg. Weak armed qb, porous defense, nonblocking offensive line, and poor special team play. Man this is deja vu.

Okay that was a vent. I was just trying to figure out what we were doing in practice the last two week?:shame:

Naaa, they're not worse.....it takes time man to gel a new squad together....adjustments will have to be made for at least the next 2 or 3 games. The talent is there and by mid season they'll be fine. I don't expect any more than 5 wins anyway which is good for a new staff and team. And the way everybody is playing in the SWAC....I don't think ANY of us have room to talk. Hell PV might win the SWAC.

Yeah, some personell changes are SUPPOSED to be made according to coach Comegy after the game. for starters #21 needs to be at Nickel back where he played at notre dame...he has NO CLUE how to cover a receiver and play the ball. Garbage.

I actually think he has a good arm HILL but he had ZERO time to throw. Hard to judge him when he's rushed every single freakin' play. Our D-Line needs to man up.
