Not even close. Chang was a grad assistant only when we hired him. Johnson probably wasn't ready for the OC job at age 25. But he has years of experience and is off a 2 year stint coaching one of the best QBs in college ball. If Johnson is the hire that's a heck of a move. But he's making 300k now and Doesn't have 30 years in like Hughes. Doubt he'll be taking a paycut.

Really? You consider a coach known as a strong recruiter but unproven as a HC as the best hire in the SWAC? Really? Really?

Did you see the turnaround at gram & pv in one year? Have you seen the guy TSU just hired? Come on Really?

That is a bit overboard. Not to mention the guy on his way to Atlanta this week.

4 years ago Hopson was the worst hire and now Hughes is the best hire because the school is located in the capital. A bit one sided. However good luck to Coach Hughes. Ok so who is the Dean now?

A little sensitive huh? Especially since the person that made the statement doesn't have any swac ties.

Being the Dean doesn't have anything to do with win/losses. It's time served plus age. Monte is going to be the Dean until he leaves or get fired.

Yep, just my opinion. I do agree PV, Gambling, Alcorn also have made good hires & made good strides. I just think JSU will be more improved football program with their new coach SEC experience. If I am proved wrong then so be it. Its all good.

Really Bluedog I believe you misunderstood my last sentence. I'm asking with all the coaching changes over the past 5 years who is the Dean of the conference now?

If you wanna go by technicalities it's Coleman at UAPB (8 years I believe at UAPB).
If you wanna go by semantics it's Comegy (10 continuous years in the SWAC with two teams)

Thanks 662, man how things have changed in the last 20 years. No more tenure, if you don't win you are out. Well except Monte Coleman.
