If the majority of city voters elect that nutt back in as Mayor, then we deserve the title as the Dumbest Voting Public in the Nation.

That fool told a WAPT-TV16 news reporter to stand in the street and wait for a 18 wheeler to run over him last week when he asked his opinion on the residency hearing. :shame:

Waiting to see what pan's out.
There are 18 people with their hat in the ring for Mayor right now and none of them have said anything really of substance right now.
Sad part is there are only 3 that are worth it out of the 18.

The 1st is the Former mayor Harvey Johnson who was run out because people said he did shat too slow.
BUT everything that is being developed in Downtown jackson right now is Harvey Johnson's babies.
His problem was he never even looked at law enforcement.
What King Frank is to hand's on law enforcement, Harvey Johnson is just the opposite in hands off.
He was into the business side.
In all honesty, they should put Harvey Johnson's name on the new TelCom/Convention Center.
People laughed at him and called him a fool for pushing that thing for year's until it got funding to be built.
Now it is the best thing to hit downtown.
Same with the Farish Street............Harvey Johnson baby.
Downtown redevelopement.............Harvey Johnson baby.
Retail, Business, Apt/Condo's, etc............All Harvey Johnson start up's.
He just got voted out for King Frank before any of it was finished.


The other candidate is Joe Horn.
Don't know much about him outside of him being a ledgislator but as for the other 15 candidates, I know all I need to know about those do nothing fools.

As I stated in another thread, Rick Whitlow, the lone repub candidate, don't have a chance in this city even though people know and like him from his sportscasting days.
He has been actively involved in the Downtown redevelopement also.

Players that damn Frank has made us the laughing stock of the nation. I could kick myself in the arse for voting for this nut. He pulled a fast one over on everybody that voted for him. I seriously think this man is mentally sick. Something just ain't right in that big ol head of his. Sen. Horhn and former Mayor Harvey Johnson are tops on my list.

How in the HELL were you fooled by him the first time? :no: :shame: My choice is Harvey Johnson. I worked in his administration and YES he was slow, but He's a city planner and had alot of connections! :tup: I have a book of his accomplishments during his 8 yrs in office.

Actually if you talk to long time DC area folks(old heads)......Marion Barry didn't do a bad job as Mayor especially the early terms......it was his vices(drugs and women) that lead to his downfall. He still got elected to some council seat even after being Mayor again. He just got re-elected in 08 with ease. Dude has power and apparently still in with Washington business folks.

BTW, he was born in Itta Bena Ms......lol.


Frank Melton to me is far worse than Barry as a Mayor. At least Marion was trying to be a Mayor instead of trying to be a cop. Melton aint Mayoral material.

Harvey played the game of politics. He did what he could, given the checks the city council put on him. Frank ain't getting NOTHING done. I'm glad I didn't vote for him. Harvey sat near us at the SCG, and one of my partners went over and apologized for voting for Frank.

The mayor said he was leaving after eating lunch at Peaches Café on Farish Street when he saw what appeared to be a photo shoot with the barely clad women. Melton said he was told it was a photo spread for a magazine called "J" and involved the ladies and some antique cars.
"They were from here," he said.
Melton said the photographer — who realized Melton was mayor of the city — asked him to be in the photos and he agreed.
"I was just so excited somebody was doing something on Farish Street," Melton said.
Melton did not say when the photos were taken, but apparently they are not very recent. Melton's heart problems have resulted in significant weight loss over the past four months and the photos show him considerably heavier.
An Internet search found a few magazines that go by the initial "J." One is the in-flight magazine for Kuwait-based Jezerra Airways, another is a weekly covering happenings in the Jewish community in San Francisco, while a third is a Portuguese fashion magazine.[/FONT]

It doesn't matter what Barry did as mayor, that dude got caught smoking crack on video and those nuts up in DC reelected him. I could have some what understood if it was weed, but CRACK. Hell to the no. That's worst then Nixon and Watergate. Hell that's worst then GWB getting elected twice. That's even worst then that Whitney Houston "Show me the receipts" interview. I can't think of anything else that's worst then Barry getting reelected. Barry single handily put black folks back 20 years.
