Ja Morant

Ja wasn’t smart in that moment considering what he just went though but white gun-toting politicians and rockers can promote themselves (and their kids) brandishing AR-15s and nobody says they need an intervention.
I could be thinking wrong, but isn't stuff like that against the NBA's image? Doesn't that have something to do with the agreement between the player's union and the owners? Any Black man who is doing something destructive to themselves deserves an intervention. Free mental health should be the first form of Reparations.

Holding a gun while signing with a friend is “destructive” now?

Ja lives in a state where any adult — by law — can buy a handgun without a permit. He broke no laws. He didn’t hurt anyone. He didn’t threaten anyone. He didn’t even shoot the darn thing. He wasn’t on NBA property with it. He just held it sitting in a car. And you’re saying this is grounds for mental health treatment. Please.

Now the NBA might have different standards in regards to firearms possession, but too many of these comments are wrought with anti-black faux moral laments.

Depending on who you are-YES.....

Especially in a climate that has certain networks and folks claiming you (or folks who look like you) are out to murk as many of them as you can.

white gun-toting politicians and rockers can promote themselves (and their kids) brandishing AR-15s and nobody says they need an intervention.

While you are correct......
The excuse will be those white kids were trained on how to be responsible gun owners. How many of the white kids who shoot up the place are legal and trained gun owners versus Pookie and Ray Ray?

One side has been showcased (by choice or not) to be way more violent than the other. Despite stats.

If that was Luca-this is probably not a story outside of Dallas. He might get suspended but it won't get the coverage Ja doing it will get.

In the eyes of certain parts of this country-YES. He already lost money because of his antics with a gun before.

All it takes is the WRONG person to see that and we might have a different story.

How many stories of black men NOT doing anything ended with them DEAD?

Dude stop the excuses. This is why so many black men kill each other like animals now. We all ways making excuses for these ignant dudes. This punk wants to be a thug, Bottom line he is not. He is being used by the thugs surrounding him. If he wasn't their cash cow they would cut his throat and dump him in the river. He is not a gangster. He is a ball player that is considered the homie that has cash. He is just like those punk rappers in Atl now in Fulton county crying because they didn't realize real thugs stand on their toes ten toes and do that time with 3 hots and a cot in a cell with 20 dudes smelling like foot and a$$ scared to go to the shower because the Botty warrior is ready to put one in them. Let him go to where he wants be with this guy. I bet his chump a$$ would be calling his dad to come get him

What excuses are being made for Ja? He has a right to own a gun just like you or I do. Explain the non "ignant" context for when a black public figure is allowed to be in public with a gun?

Also, explain the proper way a young black man like Ja can just like guns and not have thug/gangster/hood thrown at him?

White folks brag all the time about being able to openly carry a gun in the fucking Dollar General and nobody suggests that they are on a path to prison or death. But when it's a black man, folks create hypothetical scenarios of danger and potential peril.

Nobody can say what Ja actually did that was wrong other than spit out anti-black talking points.

Yea, these are the types of dudes that just don't need to own a gun. Dude grew up in a middle class family with a two parent household. And somehow, he has decided that he'd rather be a street dude than an NBA player.

So should this Tennessee politician lose his livelihood despite him (along with his family) posing with a gun used in Rambo movies?

You don't own guns do you? It's one thing to have a gun in your home and take pictures. It's another to be out in public brandishing a gun and waving it around like a fool. I've carried for 20 years and he's being irresponsible. NO ONE even knows I have a gun on me ever..and never will unless they have the misfortune of being at the other end of the barrel. Better yet, go do what he's doing in a mall parking lot or in front of a cop and see how that goes for you. It's just like me being in front of a grocery store and I just pull a gun out and start waving it around for no reason.

You sound goofy. Have you ever heard of brandishing a gun.... whether it's legal or not??? You're from Chicago so this toxic culture is probably normal to you. All this dude is doing is opening himself up to be a target for some REAL street dudes that area going to want to see just how real he is. Then, it's gonna be... "I don't understand why this happened." Let him keep testing fate...

And you think Ja would have avoided criticism if he was just taking pictures with his gun like the nice white family? LOL

And what the hell kinda "friend" posts that video to social media KNOWING you just got out of some shit for posting a gun on social media? Dude need to re-evaluate his whole life right about now. This is about to be one of the biggest bag fumbles in history.

I guarantee there wouldn't be blowback if he was posing for a pic. I bet he was drunk or high, which is a big no-no, I bet it's loaded (it better be), and what he's doing is careless which leads to folks getting shot. And who knows if there was anyone on the other end of the gun, which in Texas is assault with a deadly weapon.

You are correct in that this was negotiated in the agreement between the player's association and the nba. Ja has the legal right to do what he has done, but it goes against the stuff listed in the agreement between the player's association and the nba. The thing about all this is Ja is from a middle class family and he is acting like this for whatever reason while posting videos of it. Ja is going to loose alot of money and at some point if he keeps up with this he is going to get ban from the nba and get the rest of his guarantee contract voided.

He will still be in trouble as this runs against the player's association agreement with the nba. If Ja was not a nba player, then this would not be an issue in most cases (depending on who is employer is). I do agree with you that Ja is showing extreme negligence in handling a fire arm.

I really hope you are just playing devils advocate on this one. Endangering his brand, pockets, and possibly life are all destructive behaviors.
