Shaq got to the Finals and ran into a veteran Houston squad. A team that would whoop the Lakers arse right now in their prime. Dream would score 50 on Bynum. It wouldn't even be close. The point he was making is that Kobe had an easier road of it playing for the Lakers versus some expansion team. At least Shaq took Orlando to the Finals during a time when that franchise had done nothing at all until he arrived.

And Rambis in his prime would make a good NBA squad and contribute just as much or more than a Joel Anthony or any these other overpaid big scrubs. Rambis would dunk on your arse too. JW was not better than MJ and he didn't play for a team like the Hawks like Nique or he would have scored just like Nique where he was the lead dog. JW didn't have to lead the Lakers every night. Not because he couldn't. He just didn't need too. But there is a reason his nickname is Big Game James and he was honored with the Greatest 50 honor. You do realize Worthy was the 1988 NBA Finals MVP. Not Magic and Not Kareem. Not Byron Scott. Just like Michael Cooper could have started on other teams but stayed with the Lakers as there defensive specialist and could score of the bench. Dude was a great athlete. Coop a Loop!! The Lakers were just stacked. As a matter of fact since there were not as many teams then. Some of these sad arse scrubs on these NBA teams would not even have made the NBA at all. There were years when a rookie couldn't even make the Lakers roster. Even as a low first round pick. LOL.

You are nuts Pop. Finals MVP in 88. Avg almost 25 points per game on a great team in the playoffs. And that wasn't the only year he average over 20 points a game in the playoffs. The bigger the game. The more Worthy showed up. Role player my arse. At the end of the 80s. Worthy was outscoring Magic and Kareem most of the playoffs. LOL.
 
It was still Magic's team bruh. Just like Chicago was Jordan's team and as much as the Kobe fans deny it, it was Shaq's team during that 3 peat.

Back then, teams were deeper across the board because there was less teams in the NBA back then, meaning fewer slots for weak azz bench warmers like you got today. Some of these so-called NBA players on the bench today would not have even been in the league back then because of the smaller number of teams / slots open. You got teams like Charlotte, New Orleans, Minnesota, and Orlando that was not even NBA Franchises back in the 1980's.

Again another inaccuracy...Pippen almost won 2 titles without Jordan. ...one in 94 when he took the bulls to the 7th game of the eastern conference finals without Jordan. They should have won game 7 but got worked by the refs on the last play. He almost won the western conference finals but Kobe brought the Lakers back from 17 in the 4th of game 7. The media doesn't emphasize how well Pippen did without Jordan. It was Jordan who couldn't make the playoffs without Pippen.

And one more thing...you guys are talking about what if Kobe had played for Charlotte...Kobe did play for Charlotte ..the Lakers in 2006 and 2007 with BrianCook, KwaneBrown, and SmushParker in the starting lineup. .... THATS THE CHARLOTTE HORNETS. Kobe is just so great that he willed that sorry ass team to the playoffs 2 years in a row when everyone had them as a lottery team. No one disputes that Rambis hustled or that some of these other players played roles. I am just saying that guys like Kurt Rambis wouldn't cut it in the league today. Their skillset and lack of athletic ability just wouldn't cut it. BJ Armstrong making the all-star game in the 90's is a travesty.

He would be a solid role player now just like he was a solid role player then. He wasn't a polished offensive player but he had two NBA skills: rebounding and defense. Neither of those requires you to be a great athlete.
 
Rambis is as good as the Birdman(Denver). Zeke and Jordan both had a body guard on the court. If u fouled either one of them too hard, Dennis Rodman would make you pay. Will never forget Mchale fouling Jordan hard on a lay up. On Boston next possession Rodman wiped Mchale out.

BJ Armstrong had a great season the first year MJ left. Scottie, Horace and BJ all stepped up to pick up the slack on scoring. So BJ was playing great that year and deserved making the all star team. BJ was an All American in college. Wasn't like he was some scrub coming into the NBA. I mean if Luol Deng can make the All Star team then so should BJ. You reward folks for having an ALL STAR season. He had an all star season and the Bulls played well even with Jordan being gone. The one thing me and Get Ready agree on is the Bulls got messed over in the playoffs by the refs on that tick tack non foul call to send Hubert Davis to the free throw line to shoot 3 shots to get the Knicks over the hump against the Bulls. Otherwise the Bulls probably go on to the Finals without MJ to face the Rockets.

BJ in his prime is better than Ramon Sessions who starts for the Lakers. BJ in his prime aint no worse than Mario Chalmers. Chalmers just plays better defense. So for you to clown BJ Armstrong when there are a bunch of PG scrubs in the league either starting or coming off the bench. I bet MJ wish he had BJ over DJ Augustin to play in Charlotte. You have only 5 -7 elite PGs in the league right now.

Deron Williams, Rondo, Rose, Westbrook, Parker, and CP3

Jason Kidd and Steve Nash used to be elite PGs so I will not list them because they are on the downside of their career. Every other PG in the league is average or just a cut above average. Some are getting better like Ty Lawson and Conley Jr in Memphis. But to say it was a travesty for him to make the all star team is crazy. That has gone on for as long as the all star game has been played. Some folks make it one time only. LOL.

Dude...what do you have against role players? Come on man...you were a fullback, the ultimate role player. Somebody has to block...everybody cant run the ball.

In the NBA you need a dirty grimy role player that plays defense gets rebounds and has a presence at the basket. You need a player that everyone in the country hates except the people on your team and your fans. Thats whats wrong with the Heat, they dont have a grimy player. All of their players buy purses and hand bags and wear pink/peach color pants.

You need an old ugly ass player that looks like this:

Do you know how many extra shots the Lakers got because of the dirty work Rambis put in? That is what is wrong with the game today. Even cats off the bench want to be stars. Rambis would get on a hot forward and ride his arse like white on rice too and absorb a few fouls to get him out of his game.
