Isaiah Crowell to Alabama State?

Richt's problem is not that he doesen't have control of his players, the problem is that the administration does not have any control of the police. Don't think that UGa is the only school in the country where athletes use weed or have guns in their possession. Other schools manage to sweep this type of conduct under the rug but at UGa the media seems to know everything thats going on the minute it happens. Georgia has always been at or near the top of the list of party schools when the Playboy rankings come out. The football team just happen to be a part of a rowdy student body and the police department will not give any of them a break like other schools have managed to do. If he does end up playing at Bama State it would be great, if he can manage to stay out of trouble and stay healthy. When he was healthy last year he produced big.

I think Richt had to make this move because of the publicity of past problems. It was not good publicity for UGA.

Yes, Georgia has the reputation for being a big party school. I think that only West Georgia's reputation is bigger in the state.

I can see crowell redshirted and sitting out this upcoming season. He will still have 3 yrs eligibility. There will be some other players in the Crowell sweepstakes, IMO
I seriously doubt he has plans to do 3 more years in college. If he were sitting out a year there would not be a rush to get him in school. You have to remember that he was rated the top incoming freshman rb coming out of high school. The only way he does 3 more years in college is if he has a serious injury before the 2014 draft. This guy had dreams of winning the Heisman this year or next then the NFL after that. As soon as he is eligible for the draft he will be gone.

Yeah that's what I was getting to. College students are going to drink sad to say but they have road blocks on going every direction and its like there out there targeting foot ball players. Athens only so damn big and its like as if there writing the tickets and texting the ajc at the same time

When I was in school in the late 90's no one could hold a candle to Ga Southern people were going to school just to party

UGA is still in redneck city. That part of Ga boys love to arrest black men.

Kind of easy when you are doing drugs and riding around with a gun in your car with a scratced-off serial number.

Unfortunately the red flags will still go up on Crowell. And the rush to get him in school, make sure others won't try to get Crowell in their programs. Crowell is definitely a difference maker, and life changer for a coach, but with the legal issues in his case could interfere esp. During this upcoming season. U think??

It good to know that Barlow had recruited Crowell while he was in high school, knowing that he had no chance of signing him. Apparently Crowell and his family remember the recruitment and after touring the impressive facilities on Tuesday they were sold. Good article.

Barlow Confirms Move

It's official. Former Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell's next stop will be FCS member Alabama State.

Hornets head coach Reggie Barlow confirmed in a telephone interview with UGASports Thursday afternoon that the former five-star performer from Carver-Columbus has been admitted into school.

"I talked with Mrs. Debbie, Isaiah's mom, and I really wanted to get clearance from them to be able to go ahead and say that it was a go. She's given me permission to do that," Barlow said. "He's been admitted and will start our second session of summer school on Monday."

Crowell, who was dismissed by Bulldog coach Mark Richt on Friday following his arrest on a trio of gun charges, visited Alabama State on Tuesday along with his parents.

I'm happy for Bama St. . This is great for the conference. I love what some of SU defensive players tweeted about him coming to the SWAC :) .

Don't worry Bama St., we still gone tap that azz as usual. We always find away to shut you down. It is just the Magic in the city.

College Football Live just did a feature/interview with Barlow about the Crowell situation and what's expected of him at ASU.

I only wish he had chose Alabama State first!....Before Georgia! But good pick-up for Dem Hornets....might be a lil harder to make our 2 game winning streak happen now...lol

Hey MD...are yall bringing back that RB yall had last year?

He will be back, however, you have always called AJ a plugger, therefore, it would be in the JSU best interest that the two available pluggers get no playing time. These backs are faster than that dude you had last year. When I timed one of them he ran the 40 in 2.3 seconds.
