I'll answer the quest after the first game of the season. :read: What I DO know is the kids are getting BIGGER, FASTER, QUICKER, and of course STRONGER. I DO believe in Coach Frazier and his complete coaching staff. And hopefully soon , I'll believe in the 312 PV fans we have. :emlaugh:

<b>"Digging deep in 2008 except this time, we're bringing the backhoe!"</b>

We'll be playing SHSU & southland refs in Sept 2008. :|

Are you sure those will be Southland refs at the game? I know OOC games are sometimes a bit different...

The question is SHSU ready for 2008? We won't know Rhett Bomar's status for the fall til closer to the beginning of the season. Our two redshirt freshmen QBs are splitting up the snaps in 7 on 7 and will do the same when spring practice begins...

How will SHSU's new players be? We have a strong running back in Chris Poullard, but we lost our All-American TE. Will our JUCO transfer pan out at TE? What about our WRs?

Biggest concern on defense is the secondary. What can we expect there? Seems we are hoping on some young players and JUCO transfers to make the difference there.

I'm looking forward to the game! Doubt I can make it, won't know for certain til closer to that time...

I know one of your redshirt Qb's (Welch) since he did go to a school not too far from where I live and his younger brother played football with my son. They will be fresham playing for the same high school next year.

Hopefully the Panthers will be 2-0 at that time and I bet there will be scouts at Blackshear watching us play those Steers from Texas College.

I know I'll be at the game and hopefully our tailgate crew will be there in it entirety. Can't wait to go out of town for a all day tailgate and game afterwards.

Is SHSU "Zach East - ready" in 2008?

How does Zach East do against a team that runs the ball quite a bit? With a very talented running back and Rhett Bomar in the backfield, the Kats (before Bomar went down) were about to have two guys in the backfield that each had at least 10 rushing touchdowns apiece (Chris Poullard finished with 13).

For SHSU to manage that is rather impressive considering we've always been known as QB U for the transfers and other talented QBs that have come through Huntsville over the last decade (Chaloupka, Long, McCown, Hicks, Bomar)...

I <b>expect</b> Rhett to be 101% capable come Sept 1st. I haven't had an opportunity to canvass my SHSU contacts yet lol but I WILL be doing so arbitrarily as the spring semester proceeds. :read:

I know SHSU is strong on the O-line and the D-line so I really expect the game will be won/lost in that regard. Also, heard about that big tall juco WR (6'5ish or thereabouts) that's supposed to have excellent hands. Also, it's hard to put a finger on the txfers you guys get in because they seem to come in volumes @ a time. Like those 2 RBs. :read:

Which two RBs? Rhett Bomar and _____?

Or running backs? Our starting three on the depth chart are all SHSU 'homegrown' talents in Chris Poullard, TyMagic Robinson and Isiah Sneed. CP will be a junior while the other two are sophomores..

We did get a transfer from Texas State - San Marcos at the RB position, but there's no telling if he'll be able to make the depth chart.

Of course, the big steal of our recruiting class was Will Clay out of Snyder...

All-State, All South Plains and Dave Campbell?s Texas Football ?Player of the Year? and District Offensive MVP ... rushed for 3,143 yards and 42 touchdowns ... Texas Sportswriters ?Co-Player of the Year? ... led team to 12-3 record and state semifinals ... high school coach Chad Rogers

Lord knows I'm praying the Panthers are ready!!!

I would have loved to make that game but I'll be in Sacremento for the Shaw University game.
