Is God a Woman?

In the Bible it states that God created man in his own image but the Bible was written by men, so is there a chance that God may be a woman?

Remember though, the bible was not written by men; it was only written down by men. It is the inspired Word of God, not man. God is Spirit and is spoken of as a masculine being but I don't get to caught up with genders too too much because there's a scripture in the bible that says that "in Christ there's neither greek nor jew, rich nor poor, male nor female." -i hope i didn't misquote that.

Neaveahinvesting,
You are close Here is what the bible says,

Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Now the question is what does Paul mean by this.................

:)

He means that those in Christ are called into one body and not to allow differences to separate us from nor in His purpose.

As for God being a woman, what you really mean is FEMALE. God is characterized male for three very important reasons:

  1. All of the physical and auditory manifestations of God in the OT were masculine;
  2. Only male gender can provide SEED for HIS SON to be born;
  3. Only sons received an inheritance from their fathers.
    [/list=1]

God, is neither male or female - but a spirit.

God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth {John 4:24}

God reveals "himself" in different genders {feminine or masculine} and there are other examples he reveal himself in the neuter.

....."in his own image". Is incorrectly translated from the original Hebrew Language. It should read ........."in his image". In the KJV, the word is italics, that means that the translator added "own" to make the verse more readable in the English Language.

H,
Give us an example of God being revealed as feminine?

Are you saying that the writers of the bible twisted information, or are you saying that you found some new kind of evidence?????

No, the Holy Spirit is the spirit. Before the Holy Spirit, God came in the form of man. Please provide the scripture where he appeared on earth as a female...?

Come on my friends ? when God reveals himself, it is not only through the birth of Jesus. God, also reveals himself through his words {Bible}.

"But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,"{1 King 12:22}

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John {Acts 8:4}

"Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" {Heb. 1:2}

Spoken through His Son. His Son is the word {Logos}

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. {John 1:1}

When you?re reading about God, in the book of Proverbs. A majority of Proverbs is written in the feminine gender. Here is are examples

{feminine gender}

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen [doth gather] her brood under [her] wings, and ye would not! {Lk, 13:34} The hen. A hen is feminine{feminine}

neuter

The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower. {Ps. 18:2} Rock = Neuter: a rock is neither male nor female

masculine

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? {Heb 1:5} ; Grace [be] to you and peace from God the Father, and [from] our Lord Jesus Christ {Gal. 1:3}

The word Father makes the verses masculine.

The language of the bible, is always expressed in: tenses, voices, moods, singular or plural and genders. The word God in Gen. 1:1 is written singular but it is plural in the Hebrew Language.

H,
The scripture you have quoted is an example scripture. The Lord stated he was as a hen not a hen. There is a difference.

H,
As you know The english language does not differ between masculine and feminine. But Hebrew may. What is Rock, Fortress and deliverer in Hebrew and is that masculine or feminine? That will explain the gender issue here.

I agree with this quote.

The NT was not written in English, but Koine Greek. The English Bible is translated from the Koine Greek language. There are several grammatical formations, used in Greek and Hebrew, that is not used in English.

You are correct

As you know The english language does not differ between masculine and feminine.

but in the original Greek language, there is a difference. For example, Paul, uses the word man in several scriptures. In some it refers, mankind; or the male or female gender.

Excellent. Now, getting back to God revealed in feminine form...I think I am still waiting for a scriptural reference. I have seen none yet.

?Excellent. Now, getting back to God revealed in feminine form...I think I am still waiting for a scriptural reference. I have seen none yet.?

1 Th. 2:7 ?But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing tenderly care for her own children.? KJV

1 Th. 2:7 ?But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing ?mother? cherishes for her own children.? NKJV

I think there is a misunderstanding of t he word reveal. The word reveal, as it is used in the bible, is defined as, to make known. But, I am thinking you and others are using it as to appear.

Is a preface example of how God, reveals himself in the female or Feminine {he, God, has never manifested himself in the form of a female as like he did through Christ ?male?}. But, from reading the above scripture, God reveals {make known or shows} the feminine side of himself. How does he do this, in the scripture he uses the word ?nursing? this particular word is pronounced ?trophos -trof-os? in the original Koine Greek Language? The word nurse in the original language nurse is a Noun Feminine, while the word nursing is a verb.The word nurse means to nourish, support, feed, to give suck, to fatten, to bring up, nurture. It?s comes from the word Trepho, pronounced tref'-o, which means ?threpho? where we get our word therapy.

In the English we, consider objects, which are not related to the male or female sex to be neuter in gender. But, Greek and other ancient languages, considers some inanimate objects or ideas as masculine or feminine. Greek nouns are masculine, feminine, or neuter. What makes 1 Th.2:7 Feminine is the word nursing, mother and her. So when we read scriptures like this, it God, showing or revealing the ?feminine? side of himself, although he is neither.

The original language ?most things? are different than the English Language. Here is an example: this is a question mark {?} in English, in the Greek {;} is a question mark. Quotation Mark ? {English} <<>> {Greek}, Semicolon : {English} . {Greek} but it placed above the word.

To be honest it is a extremely hard language to explain.

...

The keyword here is FORM...you know...manifestation...show-up...appear.

There has never been a question of whether God has a feminine side. WOMAN is the evidence of that!
