Is Alabama A&M's band coming to Grambling





Prof. Carlton Wright an AAMU grad from the late 80s....

many of the former MMW band members I've spoken with are excited cause he is bringing back alot of traditions that they feel the band lost over the past decade..

as a 2x alumnus of AAMU i'm starting to see a difference already and recognizing some things I saw as a kid going to A&M football games

Except for Southern due to the Bayou Classic, I thought every SWAC band wanted to march on Grambling's campus.

A&M's band has made more trips to Grambling but when it's time to return the trip Grambling has some outlandish excuse lol....

That's the main reason the band won't be there if i'm not mistaken....

Alcorn and UAPB always come to Normal so I'm guessing Hugine doesn't have a problem sending them there...

Does Grambling travel anywhere aside from classics and to Jackson?

I see your point. If Grambling told the truth by saying they don't have the money for their band to travel to Normal, AL, would it change things?

I'm not sure you would have to ask the MMW members or alumni that ?...

but in my opinion money can't be used as an excuse...that works both ways for both band programs
..

Most of the time, money is the main reason. If they don't have it, they don't have it.

...well if that's the case A&M doesn't have it either ...so both schools don't have it

like I said earlier Alcorn and UAPB come here all the time so the administration doesn't have a problem returning the favor to those schools

A huge part is the return trip issue, GSU has not been here since 08, JSU since 05, SU, since 06, TXSU/PV never, so I would not run up behind those schools and spend good money traveling there when they refuse to reciprocate
 
Nope. GSU's band sits on the "pressbox" side of the stadium. The opposing band sits across the field on the "visitor's side".

exactly ....lol

the school can keep that money and put it towards something else
