Please understand that I commend all the hard working people at GSU that are in the band...but everyone else..yall be coming on here...after yall dont march for the whole season...sit out of performances but come on all the band trips...when you do practice you get us in trouble and we be on the field getting terrorized by Red ants...you don't pick your legs up so dr. t ends up cussing everybody out..and then you want to come on the swac page and claim you are world famed..when your not...i know i am though...i got a close up on the commercial for FALL NCAA FOOTBALL 2005 LOL hahaha EA Sports its in The GAmE!!! hahahahaha :lmao:
The real memebers of GSU band know exactly what im talking about, remember those nights?? And if you are a real member...or WERE a real member :wavey:.....
 
Well I guess I misjudged who you are as a person. BUT may I ask this question why are you on this board. Your time has passed! You have your own band and it's almost August, shouldn't you be making preparations for this up incoming season? For the record "bruh" is an expression, which I have picked up over the years from friends of mine from New Orleans. So I believe I can say whatever the he?? I feel. Furthermore if you believed the S.U was better then us then I believe you had the wrong uniform. As far as the up incoming classic goes, it will be intresting. Grambling will have it on our mind and so will Southern. Last seson was fun for us. This season will be only better. If we are so bad then "bruh" you shouldn't even bother coming to Los Angeles to see us against Alcorn. I can't believe a man just came on this forum and actually admitted that he acts femine. Thats another thread so I will not go there.
 
Man I am going to say it like this (if I step on some toes so be it)... The instrument dont make you what you are. What I am saying if you play a picc/clarinet that dont make you a fag/or gay. The reason,, why the rumor is like that is because alot of males who play those instruments act like some fags come on now,,, if you act feminine(flapping your wrist/acting like a female, dressing, complaining like a woman and it goes on an on) people going to think you gay or a fag and I have "NO" sympathy for them. I know some people who play picc/clarinet that carry theirself like a "MAN" not some sissy @ss punk. And that really piss me off... because its like everywhere you look you see more and more blackmen today acting like some faggots that really piss me off :angry: Whoever say they act feminine that shouldnt have been posted, you should have kept that too yourself.. But like someone said.. I am not going to go into that.. thats a different thread.

Ok so you forgot to mention....Larry can't read music or play piccolo/flute....Tim plays tuba and if i handed him one of my Bach Concertino's he couldn't play it if his life depended on it...I can't write music its a skill i have yet to acquire...Tiffany can out march me cuz yea she was in band for 13 years when she was supposed to graduate in 4 but that happens when you major in BAND hahahaha...WTF ARE GURDGES???...thats what i was talking about earlier...grambling folk need to pay attention in school and learn how to stop being stupid, like you are being right now...no one in the piccolo section can out play or out march me and you know thats the truth so stop lying to yourself.. martina can't play for ish...and stepahnie is always passing out...i have seizure disorder and do way better than anyone else...and you can laugh at me if you want..but know i will always get the last laugh...lucky im not coming back to Grambling cuz you can say what you want but YOU know i aint never scared to fight nobody...and if this is who i think its...i was gonna woop yo arse on the bus coming back from the classic so suck on dem apples LIL DADDY!!! Their are plenty of guys who have played piccolo before you in the Grambling band and guess what, none of them came on the internet complaining and trying to call out folks. I have a frat bro who attended Southern University and played piccolo and the bro was cold on it too. You ain't the first guy i a band to play piccolo and you most definately won't be the last. And let me be really clear on something before I go any further. The fact that you are claiming Sinfonia is really pissing me off due to your actions. There was no need to start the threads that you started because before them, no one could call you out but now you have put all your business out there and expect no one to say nothing to you. Here are some words of advice.........................

Thank you for those words because before he made this thread I had no beef with homeboy. But for him to come on here and just trash GSU is messed up you feel me. But um I must correct jermanique on one thing Tiffany Jordan who can out march you has a 3.8 gpa majoring in secondary education also she lives in the honors dorm and she just crossed Delta Sigma Theta. Oh by the way she came to Grambling from High School in 2001. Also if Larry can't read music how could he teach the trumpet section. But anyway bruh you caused all this on yourself you feel me.

Tell me why the hell everyone says that someone who plays a flute or clarinet in band that is a guy has to be gay?? that shat is messed up...im just wondering cuz i played piccolo in grambling band...and ....people just talked mad shat about me even though no one in grambling and could even compare to my playing whats up with that shat???
 
Let's not make general statements and believe them to be true. If every male piccolo player you know in an HBCU band has it the hardest, then you must not know that many. And lets not make the fact that you are from Cali an excuse. You ain't the first person from Cali in a HBCU band.


All in all you are responsible for your own actions.

This is a true statement. I figure that it is a stereo type. Just like a girl tuba or a girl playing a bass drum has to a tomboy. I figure that if you are good on whatever you play, keep playing it. I think a guy piccolo or clarinet player has an advantage and should be happy cause he is always around women. Ya heard......
 
In the old days all the instrument players in the band were men. Now that times have changed the flute and clarinet sections have come to be dominated by women. I can understand where you are coming from but, the fact is that many of the males that play those instruments are either feminine or homosexual. True, it may not be politically correct for people to make the assumption that these male players are gay but people do an will continue to play on those stereotypes. The fact is that we all have things we have to overcome. Males that play flute and clarinet just have to deal with the assumptions that come along with that. Band is about music not who is gay and who is not.
 
WOW??. That?s a lot to take in, but let me see if I can get in here if you please. I?m an Old School World Famed band member from 1981. I understand were you are coming from, but do you really think that it?s just the Band?

Everybody is not cut out for every band. People that march with the Ocean won?t do well in Storm, J-State can?t groove with Valley, World Famed with SU. Not to say that the styles are so far apart but the mentality is different. Each Band has its own unique way instilling pride, work ethic, and shoulder standing.

You know we had guys in the band that played Clarinets and flute, if I tell you they were hard and dame good marchers Sh**. The killing part about it is, one was a Sinfonia and the other was a Psi.
So to come out the way you did is a little off, take a step back and look at yourself and also see were you truly fit in. Good Luck?? and God Bless.

By the way??..
Every Band has a regrouping period, but I think that Gram is truly on a nice ride up.

Some bands regrouping period is MUCH worst than others......
 
Well.....I'm glad my parents made the decision of trumpet for me and it worked out. There would've been issues of peer pressures and the like, with me playing a flute or clarinet that I definately wouldn have needed; besides, I dont know about yall, but the majority of male flute or clarinet players I've came across were suspect. Now I'm not saying that its a problem for a hard brother to play either instrument COOL!, but it just dont seem right IMO. Can you imagine a big 200 pound "hard" n icca marching wit'a piccolo??? Ell Nall!!

IMO those instruments are female instruments....H*ll I'd vote in favor of making it law.

I feel you on that. Like you said most males that play either clarinet or flute are suspect to being a homosexual or bisexual. The comment about the 200 pound person I think it was 1998 when SU played BCC in the Heritage Bowl and BCC had this dude who was like 6'3 or 6'4 and over 250 playing the clarinet. I was like dang.But IMO your brass instruments should be played by males only. . .even though I know some girls who play brass who are great but it seems more for a male. And clarinets and flutes should be for females only. But Saxaphones and Percussion can be for both males and females

The only reason I am telling him to shut his trap is because, it seems like he is just whining. Everyone gets picked on as a crab. My crab bro. was picked on a lot. RIP toast. But all he did was use it as fuel to move on. I understand you may feel people look at male woodwinds in a funny way, but it is all about how you carried yourself. When I was a crab @ SU there was a dude (forgot his name) who was cold on the picolo, no one ever said anything about him. Like my old grandpappy always said "son you can't do nuttin but call them like you see them" So if it looks like a rainbow child, acts like a rainbow child, then it just might be a rainbow child.
