IMO PV's coach is overatted... I think the coach that got fired would have won with the squad they had last year. PV without Burks isnt a strong team....yeah they beat us last night but that wasnt impressive to me... we only have 3 scorers and our second leading scorer didnt dress out because of a hamstring... When I heard he wasnt playing I figured PV would kill us. If he dont play against Texas SO, we in trouble.

Plummer couldn't coach the first time he was there and shole nuff didn't improve himself on his second stint. Francis took a senior team that Plummer had for 3 years and turned them into winners. As for the game last night, we started 3 freshman......3 freshman and went into several stalls of not scoring. In the 2nd half with about 4:30 left we were up by 6 and didn't score another FG till the waning seconds of the game and only went to the line 1 time during that span to get a 1 point win. Don't make excuses about the game, Mike & Phatback was there and they know how the game went.

we split in 98 and you all owned us (all Plummer's teams) until 2003 when you got swept by Francis. Pettaway has a losing record against Francis. So much for that Plummer theory.
It was 3 freshmen...Fiyah..but the 5-9 freshman did the most damage. We looked like Valley from the 3-pt line.
we still have Plummer's players on the team and how many are actually doing something? The main scorers are Cooper (Francis recruit), Nelson (Francis), Riley (showed up on campus, wasn't recruited)
last year's team...

Moorer (Plummer)
Campbell (recruited by Greg Burks, went to Valley, inconsistent while with Plummer, solid PG last season)

What in the hell is that suppose to mean..... Pettaway aint no coaching god..... wish he would get the hell away from Normal ASAP. I still say if Terry Horton was playing AAMU wouldnt lost to PV, but he wasnt playing so they did. Having a 2 year winning record over Pettaway isnt saying anything...... Especially when our last two teams have SUCKED. Now with the recruits we have signed for next year, we finally have some talented height to go with our guard play.

I still think he can coach....just not in the SWAC.... He would be a great CIAA coach, in a conference that runs and guns... His coaching style is becoming extinct now. Kids dont want to come into that Bobby Knight type of atmosphere anymore. I think it left in the mid 90s. Also for some reason he doesnt do a good job KEEPING recruits. We had TWO GREAT recruits leave campus recently. I just think we need a D1 assistant who knows how to bring in D1 talent. With the team we have now the only scorers we have are guards, In any other conference that would be all we needed. Plus Pettaway AINT popular around the city and doesnt have a good relationship with city high school coaches or players. Myself and others see it like this.... If Stribling can get good players to spend 4 years in ITTA BENA, then Pettaway should be able to get good players to spend 4 years in Huntsville.

EXACTLY.... hell that was Mild. One game about 2 or 3 weeks ago, a player missed an assignment... He called a timeout and me him in the MIDDLE of the gym floor and called him every name in the book in front of the whole gym. Students laughing and everything. That style of coaching is played out now.
I use to be damn near about to shed a tear on Senior night when we were about to lose our seniors.... Now I cant WAIT till Saturday to get rid of these sorry bastads. Whatever we bring in CANT be no worst than what we already have.
