gr. all the years I have been reading the swac page your posts always end up hating on AL. We must be the envy of you. i think you want to be from AL. Sorry. you can stay in MS and never come this way. Even when JSU comes over you stay in MS.

Black folks love all kinds of Texas schools for many different reasons. Of course, you'll have those like P~...cuz, those are usually the older cats that were closer to UT's "ways" back in the day. Plus, they had parents that kept them up on that back then, also. Heck, they might've gotten the brunt of the treatment

Now, days folks just don't care about that. Heck, my brother is one of the biggest UT football fans out here. He's never had a reason to look at UT, A&M or any other Texas school with such disdain.
 
If folks want to root for Bama or any other non HBCU, then that is fine. I can't get on people for supporting a team.

When I rock the Duke blue/white demon-head (possibly) next fall, others will not share my views as well. :D

Yes

When Scrawdog first got on the board that was his statement. We were talking about TC Taylor and how highly recruited he was coming out of highschool. Scrawdog didnt believe that JSU could recruit good players.

He said "Why would a black athlete that can read/write his name choose a black school?"

The folks from JSU were shocked by such a c**n (for lack of a better word) statement. That just went to show what he thought of his own players. At the time he didnt know that some HBCU fans actually were proud of their athletes and their school. Since then he has gotten better, but he had to be reprogrammed by some proud black people to love his school. He is getting better, but as you can see by this thread alone, we proud JSUers have more work to do.

That's a LIE! I know a TON of Mississippians who can't stfu talking about MSU! And when I would ask them about Jsu, all they would say is "man, can't nobody f$&@ with the band." Oh, and they were black. So if that's what they were being "taught", then they must have dropped that class.
 
this week alone ive seen more Crimson Tide car flags than Hornet flags my entire time down here.

like my professor said, no crimson tide runs in his body. a percent of money spent on them flags goes to UA..they could have spent that money here. But i guess thats how folks born in Bama were rasied, to worship massa

I kinda understand where you are coming from. In Chicago, we have two baseball teams here--Sox and Cubs. I am a big-time Cubs fan. So when the Sox won the World Series in 2005 I was sick. Worst day of sports life. A lot of my Cub fan friends went down to the White Sox victory parade to celebrate with about 2 million people in downtown Chicago.

"I was like, why the heck did you guys go down there celebrating with those people? You do know Sox and Cubs fans don't see eye to eye, right? Remember how those people celebrated when the Marlins beat the Cubs in the playoffs?"

My friends said they were just happy a baseball team representing Chicago had won a championship, and they wanted to be part of history, considering the city had not seen a baseball title in more than 100 combined seasons of baseball.

I understood where they were coming from and was not too upset about it.

I still dont get it... I just thought it was common place to support your state when something like winning a national championship occurs, but not on the level of the way they are apparently doing it across the border to my east :noidea: :lol:

Mississippi State I am cool with (always liked them a lot more than UM since I was young), BUT since I went to Valley, there's no way anything MSU-related is going on my car (only if we are doing a show out of state and I still got enough Valley state to not worry about that) ...

It is a University - a melting pot of races, genders, cultures and ideas.

There are people working on ASU's campus who attended the University of Alabama.

There are students on ASU's campus who transferred from the University of Alabama.

There are students and employees on ASU's campus who have sisters, brothers, fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews or children who attended or currently attend the University of Alabama.

There are people visiting or doing businesss on ASU's campus who fit in one of the above categores.

Then there are people on ASU's campus who are JUST PLAIN OL' FANS of the University of Alabama.

And for the life of me, I can't understand what's so bad about any of the above. Personnally, it bothers me more to see a student wearing another HBCU's shirt than a Bama or Texas or Miami or Notre Dame shirt. To me that's kinda like someone in a frat wearing another frat's shirt. :lol:

I didn't attend the University of Alabama, but I am a fan. I've never set foot in New York, but I'm a big Yankee fan. I've never set foot in California, but I'm a big USC fan. Is that OK with you? :lol:

Well I was raised around LSU fans, so I became one. Still am to this day. I wear LSU shirts, but not on my campus. I don't see an issue with it.
