If buying American

"US based" companies, what a joke
one little building or website "based" in the US but most of the workers/jobs in other countries
you think those nuts and bolts are made in the US?

Do you have an example of a United States supplier that does that? I said U. S. based companies because some foreign companies have operations in the U. S. and cannot receive contracts.

an example?

the unemployment rate alone should tell you that.

VISIO.

VISIO is an American company that has it's tv's assembled "offshore". Since they supply the majority of the parts, they can still say "made in America."

Government suppliers. Even still. Its a TV. Not a tank or military helicopter or government vehicle.

The f-16 "fighting Falcon" version used in Europe and other Nato nations and Israel.

Main supplier is general Dynamics in Fort Hood but since 1978, they have 4 European partners building them also.

On 7 June 1975, the four European partners, now known as the European Participation Group, signed up for 348 aircraft at the Paris Air Show. This was split among the European Participation Air Forces (EPAF) as 116 for Belgium, 58 for Denmark, 102 for the Netherlands, and 72 for Norway. There would be two European production lines, one in the Netherlands at Fokker's Schiphol-Oost facility and the other at SABCA's Gossellies plant in Belgium; production would be divided among them as 184 and 164 units, respectively. Norway's Kongsberg Vaapenfabrikk and Denmark's Terma A/S also manufactured parts and subassemblies for EPAF aircraft. European co-production was officially launched on 1 July 1977 at the Fokker factory. Beginning in November 1977, Fokker-produced components were sent to Fort Worth for fuselage assembly, which were in turn shipped back to Europe for final assembly of EPAF aircraft at the Belgian plant on 15 February 1978, with deliveries to the Belgian Air Force from January 1979. The Dutch line started up in April 1978 and delivered its first aircraft to the Royal Netherlands Air Force in June 1979. In 1980 the first aircraft were delivered to the Royal Norwegian Air Force by SABCA and to the Royal Danish Air Force by Fokker

I said there were exceptions. For the most part, U. S. companies supply the federal government.

Heck looking at that F-16, many countries bought a version of it. If you think the U. S. uses the same configuration as Belgium or Denmark uses, you're mistaken. That article doesn't even say the U. S. bought any made by that partnership.

I know................Thats why I said the EUROPEAN VERSION of the F-16.
Parts for these are made overseas, shipped to Fort Hood for partial assembly, and then shipped back to Europe for final assembly.

Manufacturing jobs are on life support.
ALL I see rescuing my people
Are

NISSAN, TOYOTA , HYUNDAI, and Mercedes Benz- all foreign

I have NEVER heard of a NEW FORD or CHEVY PLANT

The US doesn't even invest in the US, China does though, but really China investing in the US
is like China investing in themselves. The US can't survive without China

invest in the US so they can turn around and give it to China?

Which means the federal government is not buying them. It's actually Ft. Worth, not Fort Hood.

There are dozens more Ford and GM plants already in the U. S. than there are Toyota, Nissan, etc plants. Why would they need new ones?

China needs the U. S. much more than we need them.

if I had the time i would research this
but so far I see ford is only the 5th largest automaker in the world
and many US automakers have plants overseas
I have a sneaky suspicion the US is losing the auto war, especially when GM desperately needed the bailout

That's because people are/were not buying American cars. The data shows an constant decline in auto sales for about a decade until 2010 when there was an increase. As a result, GM and Ford increased production and employment levels at existing plants. They also reopened some that were closed.
