I see barlow is on the transfer route...getting good quality football players from top-tier programs. +1

Two former Kentucky players who were dismissed from the team in July have landed at Alabama State.

The school has had 16 transfers from Division I programs in the past nine months.

Nothing wrong with 2nd chances.. or according to Stoops.. 3rd or 4th chances.

The Thomas brothers were released by new coach Mark Stoops after being cited for various drug possession charges, including possession of a controlled substance (mushrooms) on July 6 at the UK Arboretum.

All I can say is BE CAREFUL.
Loading up on all these transfers with "checkered pasts" is what got Comegys azz in hotwater from 2007 -2010 when the NCAA put a toe in our azz.

Just saying.............. :lecture:

Whatever it takes to win I guess....We got 19 freshman and four transfers. I liked our class and the apr thing changed comegy's recruiting which is a good thing. Barlow is the best recruiter in the swac hahaha

Good quality transfers...Second Chance U.

Yep 4 transfers........... no serious issues. Not 12 with half looking at their last chance. Comegy learned his lesson about recruiting on this level. Took him a while..........but he learned.

Kadeem Thomas, nicknamed “Pancho,” played for former Alabama recruiting coordinator Ronnie Cottrell at Godby High in Tallahassee, Fla. An inside linebacker at Godby, he was a three-star recruit with offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, Florida A&M, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville, North Carolina State, South Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He played in 10 games for the Wildcats as a true freshman in 2012 after recording 143 as a senior at Godby a year earlier.

Khalid Thomas rushed for 1,471 yards and 15 touchdowns on 184 carries in leading Godby to the AAAAA state championship in 2012. He, too, was a three-star recruit with offers from Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, South Florida, Texas Tech and Troy.

They will join the other criminals. Desperate times call for desperate measures...po Barlow....the heat is on

If they were at the campus Arboretum with that mess, I bet they got sent home by the school. That's messing with the schools Agriculture and the schools money. They can probably get their own garden in Montgomery right behind the federal prison there.

guess I'll go on and add the other 2 recent additions too.....

Two others who joined the team recently are former G.W. Carver defensive tackle Rod Henderson, who left Southern Mississippi over the summer, and Western Kentucky transfer Daerius Washington, who is currently running with the first team at strongside linebacker.

:scared:

We are glad ya'll are helping the needy.

Also, unlike some others, I am NOT against transfers. In the internet age, transfers are NEEDED to keep talent on hand. Some will pan out and some won't. If you got 16 of them, about 6 of them will probably be good for the program. They others will ride the pine or hurt the APR. Transfers are no different to APR than any other student so I don't see the APR fuss when it comes to transfers. However, the thing that typically hurts is when the kid should have certain number of hours and they don't. To the NCAA, Jr is a Jr and must have 60 hours.. NOT 59. (or is it 48 hours?.. whatever..LOL) That is the ONLY thing to be wary of when you FIRST bring them in because otherwise, they can have a 4.0 and still cost you an APR point if they can't be properly classified.

I have nothing against transfers either...but come on!!! Don't just accept ANYBODY, and make them work for a spot especially if they came to the program with issues.

They just happen to have a LOT of spots open. :snicker:

Have some pride....certain players are just not worth going after, and you know these guys expect a scholly and a starting spot!!! Just recruit good freshman and develop them. Wait, why do I care? Let them do what they do. Mushrooms tho???

I'm just glad they didn't kill anybody. :scared:

They have to look past their first game as they have no realistic expectation of even making it competitive. In their minds we are the beginning and end of their season.

I can't speak for everyone else but I hate 1-A games so yeah, it's meaningless to me. We won't learn anything from it.
