I don't see why more bands don't take advantage of BOTB participation in order to raise money for the upcoming year. On average in Jackson, Memorial Stadium gets around 50,000 plus for it's annual BOTB. Multiply that times 8-10. That's quite a bit of money to be gained for one day's work.
A SWAC BOTB's could raise quite a bit of money for schools to be able to incorporate into their budgets.

I think this will be great for Jackson and all band lovers. Southern needs to be there so the youngsters can see other collegiate band styles. Every high school in that battle tries to model themselves after Jackson State.You all know that watching 15 high school bands with the same style if booorriing. Southern will bring a different flavor to the whole thing.
I love the Boom but I also like the Box.
Come on Southern you know Jackson is your second home.
I also guarantee you that if Southern joins this year, next year other swac bands will follow. Grambling does everything that Southern do and texas southern will follow.
