I Don't See Charlie Strong Lasting Too Much Longer at Texas.

Let them keep taking losses like this and dude is up out of there. They don't even look like they're trying. They have Texas tech, Baylor, Oklahoma still? Hell they might not even beat rice this year.

You have to remember he didn't take over a 9 or 10-win Texas squad, he took over one that had a few bad seasons. That makes a huge difference in the amount of time you are given to start winning.

Mack Brown won 8, 9 and 8 games in his last 3 years. His last year they finished 2nd in the conference with a record of 7 - 2. Charlie Strong wasn't asked to rebuild Texas. His job was supposed to take a good Texas team and make them a title contender. They are going backwards under him.

That last Texas team under Brown didn't have one player get drafted.

I think he will get another season, but with Oklahoma up next week, it does not get easier.

The wildcard is that they have to hire an AD.

My thing is even our SWAC coaches could win with the resources Texas has. He has more money than some NFL teams, kids that don't actually have to go to class and facilities out of the wazoo, plus he can recruit in TEXAS. I don't think he has much time.

Q: Do I think that they should fire Strong?
A: I do not.

Q: Would it surprise me if they fired him?
A: It would not.

I think he should get another year, but those Longhorn fans are something else. those fans include quite a bit of big money people.

It may get ugly in Dallas against Oklahoma.

Any coach needs time to recruit using that money. Money doesn't win if it wasn't used properly. This will be the 2nd SR class at Texas in the last 3 seasons without a single draft pick.

Man I hope Willie Simmons does not get caught up in the ut-austin train wreck smh.

I would generally agree that it's foolhardy to quickly get rid of a coach. In a vacuum, that is almost always the logical choice. But this isn't a vacuum, and things are coming off the rails far faster than anyone could have imagined. In the second season, there are usually some signs that things are trending in the right direction. There haven't really been any this season.

I know there are always financial concerns, but it doesn't really make much sense to bring back Strong for a third season when it will very obviously be a lame duck season. I know there have been forces working against him, but it's becoming clearer that he's lost control of the situation.

He is a black man in a klansman type school. I will be surprised if he finishes the season. They will find somebody willing to coach there it's Texas

I wouldn't go that far to call UT that. They are more liberal than most PWC schools in the south. Bama, Ole Piss, LSU....those are klansman types of schools.

Maybe not as blatant as bama, lsu and ole miss but they are all the same to me. UT's students are more liberal but once they graduate and move out of Austin, they tend to turn into conservatives like their parents. If you read some of their political forums on their football boards, their views tend to be as racist as A&M's.

Very. Same animal category: carnivorous. Different breed of animal but still will devour (minorities) because it's in their dna to do so. smh

strong is not made for UT.....he would do better eastward like at a S. Carolina, etc...you gotta have a Mack Brown type personality to make it

but also, UT was was top dog due to Baylor being down and TCU was a Mountain West team

UT is Texas Klansman school I didn't believe it at first until I moved to Houston. I visit Austin all the time and was there this weekend. They hide it very well but the klansman mentality still lurks around don't be fooled lol

Y'all are going to learn to listen to me! If Charlie can't pull off 6 games this season, he will ge gone. This isn't UTSA or UTEP, this Texas! Money on top of money along with hidden money!

You are soooooo RIGHT..........Their Big Time Oil Men and Cattle Barons will buy his contract and won't think twice about it. I'm predicting CS will be gone before the end of the season!!

Strong has no support at UT. The money boosters didn't want him and the AD that hired him is gone. TCU embarrassed Texas and OU is primed to do the same.

I listened to ESPN Radio this am on the way to work. At 1 time, Texas was the elite of the state. But A&M has new facilities, as well as Baylor and TCU. TCU, Baylor, A&M, and even UofHouston has better recruiting classes. As much as most on this board would like to see him get a chance to see his class graduate, he won't make it after this year.

On to Miami.

And TCU took their foot off the gas after halftime at that! It could have been a lot worse. But not Oklahoma, they gonna try and bust the clock on the 40 acres.

Texas just might show up against OU. You never know with that game...and its not like OU has been super impressive this year. I've seen them blow it before. Hopefully Stoops shows no mercy though.
