But I am the one getting reports about YOUR Boy talking about me, and calling me childish names off of here... Now who is taking it personal?...

You said all of that to say what? Judging from that 76 clip, all that crap you saying is a complete lie. GSU band been on the bs...

You worrying about my "little" life.. What you do for a living dude? I have done more at the age of 27 than you will ever do in your life... I gave scholarships, gave a band fair in which kids from New Orleans was able to audition for scholarships they would have never had a chance to audition for. Check Miles college, TxSU, and GSU... ask any kid from New Orleans who went to that band fair I gave in 2003.
Like I said, you don't know me. I can shoot the shat all I want about how horrible a band sound. If this was a hip hop site, I would talk about how garbage Ashanti is. But my interest is in band, so until GSU fix their problem I will say what I please abou them...

And being honest I ain't say NOTHING about GSU band in a LONG while until this BS for a TV show took the time to try to play SU.
Now go pick your nose and figure what new song you going to TRY to arrange and make sound like shat...

I wish the show would have shown grambling's band playing "Caribbean Queen" by Billy Ocean as their second selection at the Battle of the Bands this past year. I'm certain it was an oversight. :lmao:

The game was over then.

I got my kicks laughing at Bruce Eugene's momma's disgusting, finger-waved ass. The true star.

Could this QBs mother even disguise a degree? Really.
You did hear her speak, huh? :devil2:

Seems that a little logic needs to be applied to this discussion.....

In my opinion, seems that a mistake was made when the footage was edited. I'm certain nobody at Grambling had anything to do with the editing or post-production of that show. Whoever did the editing probably knew very little (if anything at all) about the difference in SU and GSU's sound. And if you haven't been around the SWAC long enough, you wouldn't know the difference anyway...

So, with that being said, let's just admit a mistake was made and leave it at that. All this fussing and threatening (each other) is pointless.

Besides, I'm willing to bet if you contacted BET and asked who did the editing, they'll probably say some white guy did it.... And he'd certainly be capable of making a mistake like this....

So, for anybody to insinuate that this was done intentionally is an idiot...

Back in '90 when we (Boom) went to Hollywood, they edited our dance routine. If you remember, when we did JSU rocks the house, they edited the 'S' out. It went from the 'J' to the 'U', but the video showed Clarence Bays (tbone) yelling 'S' as big as day.... Were we mad about it. No....

It happens....

I don't give a flying fart about your lil life!!!!
Just admit it to me that you can't stand Grambling and I'd respect you more.

Naw homie, I guess you will have to stay miserable the rest of your lil pathetic life, if you think you going to get me to admit to something that isn't true...

I guess if would hurt more, it you would realize I am only speaking the truth not out of hate, but out of all seriousness...Ain't no hate in my game playa, all realness.. So I suggest you move on and not reply to me anymore since you got the answer you were afraid of..."SUtrpt96 has no ill feelings towards GSU but find so much wrong with our program"...Many others share the same opinions, I guess you can call me their "spokesperson".. Now go back and finish beating your head on your kitchen table. Only if you displayed this much concern with GSU band, maybe I won't have much to say, but lay off of my opinions and put your time and energy towards helping better GSU band. Maybe this is easier for you, you probably have no idea where to start with helping a band that's in the state GSU is in out...

The real has been spoken now:

Of course the producers edited it...they were not affiliated with BET...they shopped the idea around and BET bought it.

BUT....I don't think the editors are THAT clueless about the sounds from the bands. They TAPED the performances and made a choice to switch the sound. They could have left the songs as performed if they wanted to...less work.

Your example about JSU is not applicable because even though they edited your performance, they didn't edit it with another group's stuff.

His example is applicable. His point was in editing and how it came across on national TV. You all don't want to see it that way, because ya'll are being SUPER sensitive about it.

Ya'll really are clueless on production editing and going by what you THINK should have been done, rather than KNOWING how professional TV editing works.
Producers and film editors are going to edit how they see fit in order to give the essentials of any programming.

And quite honestly, the average person who is NOT SWAC affiliated would more than likely NOT know the difference in the TV sound of both bands. ALL of the music from BOTH bands did NOT sound that great, in MY OPINION. And if I feel this way with knowing how SWAC bands sounds, imagine how someone, who may not know ANYTHING about the two bands and their sounds, viewed/taped/edited the bands.

For once, can I get everyone to look at the bigger picture, which is someone has spotlighted OUR SWAC school for a national audience to see? It's US, our people. While we're complaining about how BET "screwed up the sounds," there are people out there (hopefully and especially the young people) who got a chance to see a little bit of black college life and hopefully that will encourage them to attend a HBCU.

Or are we going to CONTINUE to complain and find fault? I guess if this series didn't exist, we would then be complaining about not getting any kind of exposure from our black network.

Crit it is not about all that. They CHOSE to make their edits (the producers, not gram)... please tell me why would they SWAP sounds? Please explain since you say we know nothing about editing.

Editing is fine...but SWAPING?

...and not all exposure is good exposure.

I really didn't think that this was going to get this far. Jags crying about what BET did, and others talking about Bruce Eugene's mom. That's just crazy! Oh well, grow up and get over it. GSU didn't have anything to do with what happen with the music. One the second show, they had the " World Famed " GSU band playing a southern song. Thats when everyone knew that BET made some mistakes with the music. Grambling didn't have anything to do with it. So why don't you guys just stay cool. If you are a Southern lover and have a problem, go talk to BET instead of crying to the SWACpage and other band web site boards. Maybe you guys have the right to get mad, but some people, like myself, really don't care how mad anyone from SU gets due to things I we seen from Southern fans in the past.

PEACE HBCU's!!

Why are ya'll acting like BET did this intentionally????? Ya'll really need to calm down. It is NOT that serious.

H3LL, the way MOST of that stuff sounded (from my initial watching), ya'll better be glad Gram ain't mad at BET for mixing ya'll sound with theirs. Let's not act like the music sounded good on both ends.

Not all exposure is good exposure, but in this case it was... for Grambling. So why not just be glad about that?

Let's also keep in mind that we're talking about BET, too. The same network that we already complain about time after time after time during football season on their poor coverage. Why should this be any different? I guess 'cause it hits home, huh?

This thread needs to be closed because some of ya'll are utterly ridiculous!

Some of ya'll do nothing but pick at things like a sore until it bleeds! Which leads to nothing but bitterness! I can see why.....nevamind!

Let this crap go and move on! Dayum!

BET didn't do any of it... I been saying that. Hell half the music was really Gram...they changed Run It and Neck. The other stuff was still Gram when Gram was playing.

Now could you go back to the editing part and educate us on it?
