HS recruiting in NTx has become harder: facilities.

This is similar to how Valley's stadium was supposed to look when we got the "visitors" side upgraded (which is actually supposed to be turned into the home side. Whenever the talks of upgrades to the stadium come around this will be pushed. The scoreboard has to be moved though (stay tuned))

Money! The Mansfield ISD stadium is nice also. I live in Mansfield, but haven't been to any football games YET! Plan to check out Allen this year.

It's like the mecca of HS facilities in NTx. Did they finally finish all the construction work on 360 north of 287? I think it's a toll hwy, right?

The players in Allen, McKinney, Prosper, etc. were we getting those players anyway? Most that live in those cities even without the new mega stadiums don't push their kids to a HBCU. A few yes, but on the broad perspective no. So I really don't see a loss.

Just need better engineering/procurement contractors to avoid the stress issues with the concrete.

When your design team are mainly architects, engineering takes a backseat to aesthetics. The same stadiums built somewhere else might not fair too well under environmental conditions. For some strange reason, North Texas is not immuned to seismic activities. It's akin to building steel supported stadiums in areas with a high level of sodium chloride/salt in the atmosphere, basically cities along some ocean front.

A smidgen here or there. Ironic that just yesterday I spoke w/ one of those from that corridor on PV's upcoming fall squad. I was decently surprised when he spoke of his HS and his former district.

they tax themselves so nothing we can say. If we could do it in addition to student fees we would do it also. That's how community colleges have grown so fast thanks to taxation

Speaking of... is everyone aware that LSCC will start offering... 4-yr bachelors degrees??? They are academically hostile and about to put a stranglehold on the greater htown region, imho.

My son started at Lakeridge, then graduated from Timberview, been to games at MISD, it is a cool stadium, good games there. Watched Trinity beat a ranked California team there

Cool! Did your son not like Lakeridge? My kids are zoned for Lakeridge High. I haven't been in the stadium yet. My kids are on the swim team, so we are at the Mansfield Natatorium six days a week.

He didn't like the basketball coach at Lakeridge, he is a real prick (long story) and he liked the smaller class sizes at Timberview

Since yours does swimming they will be fine, need to stay on top of the counselors though, they have too many kids per counselor

There are several parents from HBCU's that have their kids on the swim team. Many from Grambling, Southern, TSU, and Hampton.

I'm not surprised. I wore a HowardU or buckeye alumni tee/sweat top or two in that piece and saw where some of the colored folk were almost staring trying to figure who I was lol. I was daring any of them to speak to me as I projected my unfriendly demeanor whilst I sponsored a few youngers from Fort Worth for summertime swim deals spreading from Southlake to Mansfield. :D

I don’t mean to rain on your parade, however in MS with the tight budgets there are colleges n front of you for an upgrade. However, I’m pulling for the brothers in the 662.
