It's because Mercedes Benz Stadium is expensive as hell to rent. I'm pretty sure much more so than the dome used to be. Even the GHSA stopped playing there and started playing at Georgia State Stadium. That joint aint cheap lol. You rent that stadium and get less than 30k you may be losing money. Arthur Blank needs his bread.

I remember TSU vs PVU when their stadium opened. probably 5 rain delays. I understand everytime there is a lightning strike they have to wait 30 minutes. correct me on this. I watched the end of the game on my tv. But i will be this this coming saturday for our annual Labor Dau butt kicking. As usual for TSU, nothing to see here.

I don't know it is some stuff brewing near the Caribbean, I hope your sorry Houston/PV weather holds up, might have the same weather delay issue smh

I also wonder why they don’t schedule these early games in some dome stadiums cause it never fails to have weather delays during these eariy months of the season.

Because the event organizers would have to work around the schedules of NFL teams/other events. The Georgia State Stadium seems to not feature any potential conflicts.

The Georgia State Stadium is the perfect venue for this event. MEAC fans don't travel well except SCSU and maybe NCCU and a few of the SWAC teams don't either especially for the first game of the season so yeah nice fit.

I was expecting the mighty Howard University Bison Nation to really show out but of course Howard alumni talk the talk but don't really walk the walk when it comes to athletic support. Their school pride is different than ours ... they love to brag they went to "the Black Harvard" or they were in an Alpha chapter but are not big in-person supporters and followers of their school like we tend to be. ASU really showed out Saturday and bought the ENERGY and EXCITEMENT to the game. Howard fans were pretty dry and didn't bring any flags or pom poms ... just pretty dry and tame lol.

Howard folks dont care about sports like that. The sports culture is different once you get that far north. Their game atmosphere was real "Different World" like, if that makes sense lol. Now academics, they didn't bullshit. Folks wouldnt even let me into class without being dressed in a full suit and they legit inspected me at the door. Had to draw the line at cutting my braids though.
