How much vacation time you got left?

I have 86.67 hours and we can roll over from year to year with a cap based on years of service. I take alot of 1/2 days (taking one tomorrow) as I don't really have a need to take off whole days from work.

We have a company paid Christmas Shutdown which does not effect our vacation balances that goes from 12/23/07 to 1/2/08 - return to work 1/3/07.

We don't have sick time - If you sick - stay home. Doctor's appt. - go to it. Personal business - take care of it.

Our fiscal year goes from Sept to Aug so we just really started over a few months ago. I have 29 vacation days, 60 sick days and 6 personal days on the books. I had about 160 hours of comp on the books but they made us use them up by Aug 31, 2007 and we can no longer carry more than 40 hrs. I'll be back up to about 60 hrs after christmas and will use these days during the summer again. I worked a lot of 3 day work weeks from May to Aug and only worked 5 days in July. We can't hold no more than 30 days vacation on the books, so when Sept rolls around, I make sure I have no more than 14 left to roll over since I get 15 days vacation a year. We also get 5 days personal to use as we wish, I used to use these up first because they would become state days (which are hard to use) now we can roll them over.

I have 3 wks of vacation this year and have only used 6 days so far.
I spread my days out over the course of the year to have longer weekends, vs. taking a week or two off to go to one spot. They don't roll over to the following year. Have 9 days left and looking forward to an extended Thanksgiving and Christmas holdays.

19 sick hours
24 vacation hours

But mine is kind of inaccurate because I have 7 days already in the books that were taken out of my time. I'm off from Thursday, November 15th until Monday, November 26th. And, I have Christmas Eve off as well.

I think I have 10 days vacation left. I've taken a couple of days here and there but I apparently had time left over from last yr. Sick days aren't a problem. They will send me home if I even look like I'm coming down with something.

Ain't working for the State just grand!! :jump:

Now you see why I have only 4 more years to go before I can retire....:smoke:, barring nothing wipes it out.

You got me beat by 1 year.
I got 5 years to go starting this past October 1.

Well, it's that time of year...approaching the very end and the Holidays are right around the corner. We've gone thru the vacation exercise, here at work. All the managers wanted all remaining vacation time accounted for, so it's all been submitted, as of last month.

How many days y'all have left? Do you save up most of your time for the end of the year, around the holidays, or do you take a day here and there throughout the year?

I take days here and there throughout the year...AND put in for Thanksgiving and Christmas days each year. This is the last year, having to deal w/this crap. I'm off 5 days for the Thanksgiving/Bayou Classic break...then I'm off 11 days for Christmas/New Year's...can't wait! :flippy: :jump:

When are you guys off?

14 hours of Annual Leave
69 hours of Sick Leave

8 I have to use for the Friday after Thanksgiving for the 2007 Bayou Classic...
I may work Veterans day and get 8 hours of Annual Leave instead of holiday pay.......and get regular pay for working............

Aha.....I see you have reached 3 days a month also.....rolling over year after year after year......;)

I look at all my personal and sick and just :happydance:

For awhile after Katrina, I wasn't using ANY personal or sick when I had to take off. I had a ton of comp leave.

State of Georgia Employee

360 Annual
725 Sick

I'm maxed out. Unless I take some days off, my earned leaved is forfeited. But I plan on taking off some extra days for Christmas.

What do you mean?

I earn 7 hours of annual & 7 hours of sick leave each pay period. With the State, the maximum amount of leave that you can earn is 360 annual & 725 sick; anything earned over that is what we call forfeited leave. This leave is pretty much lost, but it is kept up with. You can use forfeited leave come retirement time in which if you have a whole lot of forfeited leave, you could retire early.

No sir...that's not the way it works at Canon USA, dear. They give you so many weeks a year, depending on your tenure. If you don't take your days, you are assed out.

They don't have to worry about that w/me, though. I use all my time, including sick days. LOL

 Shiiiid, remind me not to apply for a job at Canon USA. :swink:
Like Cingular, I gots ta have rollover time/minutes. ::smoke:

Well...Da Feds aint got that issue wit me neither. I takes mines. :emlaugh:

I haven't had to use any and it doesn't matter to my boss. Since I have been here, he has basically made me take days off and he doesn't even count them as sick or vacation. So, right now I'm riding on 40 hours of Vacation and 40 hours of Sick leave.

I have 3.5 days left.....

.5 personal time...

I'm gonna burn it all up during Thanksigiving since we have a full week off for Christmas and New Years anyway.

I'm using some of my unused PTO time now. I'm off until next Thursday then I will be off again the week of Thanksgiving. I think I will have 2 or 3 days to roll over for next year.
