How do you like the spanish version national anthem?

I don't care for it. If them futhamuckas want to be here, they need to learn the National Anthem OF this country, as it was composed FOR this country.

ISHT.

It kind of defeats the purpose, don't ya think? If you want to be in the USA, realize that English is the language of choice.

Now, I'm not against folks speaking their native language. But when it comes to the National Anthem of the country why not perofrm it in the language of the nation.

It's no big deal. It's not like they created a new athem. They're just singing Old one in their native tongue. Besides, when I took French, I had to say the pledge of allegiance in French. We need to keep open minds and stop sweating the small stuff.

I do not think that America has an official language. If one who does not speak english, cares enough about America to sing that english pub song in thier language, I thnk that is very touching and patriotic...........and should be temporary until they learn to sing it in english. English should be the official language!!

You captured my feelings about this issue. Until we have an official language - this is a non issue for me.

#@$%, official language? Then why were we forced to learn this language when brought over here? (I already know...retorical question)

Heck, I was through when I heard them singing We Shall Overcome in Spanish...:upset:

I just don't see their point yet, you come over illegally and want justice? :xeye:

I don't care.
We got Americans who can't sing it in English, 'cause they don't know the words. So it's whatever.

No Id, stay here illegal, walk off jobs, clog streets protesting ILLEGAL immigrants, now change the language of the Anthem................guess that's next on the PC agenda.

:( But............what's tha point .....................I know......................Whenever someone whine's, America has to knuckle under and change.:(

LOL!!

Damn, CriT, you took the words right off my keyboard!!

I saw all the news networks really jump on this story. Of course, the Bush News Network, a.k.a. FOX News really covered it in great detail.

They didn't change the words, they simply sang it in a different language....just like that song I learned in 3rd grade, "Are You Sleeping, Brother John....Frera Jaques, Frera Jacques, dormir vous, dormir vous?"

Trust me, there are things a hell of alot more important going on in this nation these days that deserve more attention than this. It's rather trivial if you ask me.

Thank you,

Although I don't think it's an end-all/be-all and really have a dog in this hunt (i mean what do i care how somebody sings a song, but now on the other hand, i doubt if any of you would sit by silently if more non-blacks started attending YOUR undergrad HBCU alma mater and put their spin on your "sacrid traditions" and such,, i mean please-and you won't acknowledge this because that's the way of a forum like this, but you know you wouldn't stand for that shat so please. yeah, like members of frats and sororities and so forth would just roll over if "aliens" came into HBCU social culture society and started putting their spin on things,, please.), one thing that i notice on anything like this is there's always this, "we got more important things to worry about" bullcrap.

Well,, if something like this is so non-important, then why do these groups altering the dimn song ZERO IN ON IT AND GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE IT SUCH A BIG DEAL IN THE FIRST PLACE?! WHY THE FNCK DON'T THEY JUST NOT SING THE DMAN THING if this is not important and we got so much other crap to be worried about?

You know what, if Americans want to respond to this and MAKE it important and draw a fncking line just like these groups do going out of their way to MAKE stuff like this a big deal, then SO BE IT and maybe IT IS a big deal and people SHOULD draw a fncking line.

I think this why so much shat in this country has gone to hell,, because of this "we got more important things to worry about" mentality which is basically a psychological ploy to dis-arm people and influence them NOT to say anything or stand up and rebuff stuff like this. Never mind THESE PROTEST GROUPS ARE SO GOOD AT STANDING UP AND PROTESTING TO GET WHAT THEY WANT AND INFLUENCE PUBLIC OPINION!!!! I don't hear them running this type of "we got more important things to worry about" rubbish. oh so the protest groups and protesters, have their say huh,, but when it comes to anyone else,,,, oh well then it's "we have more important things to worry about" bull??? this is straight-up bull. fnck that. if people in the U.S. have a problem with this crap, they should stand up and protest JUST LIKE THESE GROUPS ARE DOING, i mean please.

For someone who doesn't care, you sure are ranting a great deal about it. And regardless of what you say, there are a hell of alot more important things that this nation (and its leadership) should be worried about rather than the damned translation of a song! The song hasn't been changed, and those folks haven't made any demands about incorporating a Spanish version. Like CriT said, there are folks born and raised in this country that don't even know the lyrics to the song in ENGLISH, and some who can't read the damned lyrics when they see them. Should folks go out and rally against them and demand that they learn it? Or rather, should they be more concerned with the fact that there are folks in that nation that can't read a damned second grade level book? Where are our priorities? Some of these rock-a-billies complaining about the song, are walking illiterates themselves.

Singing a song in a different language (not changing the lyrics) would hardly qualify as "puttin' a spin" on it. Hell, there are non-blacks and others at HBCUs all over the country, and many of them can speak English and their native tongue. For all we know, the may already be siging our University hymns in their native language. They aren't changing the songs, or their meanings so, WHO CARES? :xeye:

well Bartram, from the sounds of YOUR post, YOU care enough for everyone...I, personally, have other things to worry about besides all these gottdamm mexicans that their issues.

I don't like it... I do not agree with a Spanish National Anthem...They take the time to translate that into Spanish, they might as well learn it in Ingles'.

That's bullisht.

and?.............................

Tell me why do the U.S. have to conform to everything some outsider wants.

If they want to be a part of THIS country, why not BE A PART instead of trying to change everything to another countries customs.

The sad part is...................Too many people here just sit back and let it happen.

I saw a story on the news last night about Hollands immigration laws.
Do you know they make people that want to become citizens watch a 2 hour tape on how tolorant their society is.............(Legal Mary Jane, Drugs, Gay Marriage, etc) ................AND IF A PERSON DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS, YOU CAN'T BECOME A CITIZEN.
In fact ........YOU ARE NOT EVEN WELCOME TO COME THERE IF YOU DON'T AGREE.

I'm gonna try and find that news clip and post it

But we, THE U.S., have to change for every Tom, Carlos, and Helga that comes here demanding we change for them........................JUST SAD.:vomit:
