How Deep is your love

chocalate_topaz

I wanna be your lover...
Okay...yep, research for a book here!

Here is the situation:

- Newly married couple--2nd marriage for wife; 1st marriage for husband.
- Wife has an 8YO child from 1st marriage AND she is 4 months pregnant with her child with Husband 2.
- Ex-husband has also remarried-- his second, his new wife's first and he refuses to have more children though she does want some.

NOW...First child gets sick and needs the stem cells from an identical donor--only way for that to happen is to have another child by first husband... except she is pregnant by second husband.

So...here are some options:

1. Abort current pregnancy and get pregnant with first husbands child?
2. Keep current pregnancy and then get pregnant with first husband's child?
3. Go with God...and wait and see and hope that he is somehow miraculously healed?...

How should this story end??:retard:

  1. What is the objective of the book?
  2. Who is the target audience?
  3. Is there an agenda that the author wishes to pursue with the subject matter?

We need a little bit more detail. Just a wee bit.

1. Fiction/entertainment, scratch your soul and make you really think
2. Mainstream reader
3. Yes, I'm exploring the depths of this "unconditional love" everyone says they wish they had in their lives...

If that isnt good enough...ask away.

You are being very creative with this one. Like how long does the 8 year old have before he absolutely needs the stem cells? Aborting the pregnancy (at 4 months, to make matters more complicated) to have another with the ex would take a long long time and would basically end 2 marriages.

My answer... go with God.

J4L- I was gonna give him the old "1 year to live" prognosis...

And yes, I too think it will, if not end, definitely change the marriages significantly. But whats the limits to what you will do to try and save your kid? :xeye:

Well they do say momma's baby, daddies maybe, and if you feed them long enough they look like you anyway.

Unconditional love...

Then let's go with
Keep current pregnancy and then get pregnant with first husband's child

You will need some plot development and turmoil. So, let's do it by artificial insemination where the second husband is totally against the idea until he finds out that is how he was conceived. So, you get to put some strain on the relationships and still preserve the marriages. In the end you have two families with theirs/theirs/ours for kids.

And we must have one of my favorite songs of all time.

How about neither. 1st husband should get second wife pregnant. She wanted to have kids anyway. This shyt was a no brainer.

Fyi - Just because an identical donor is needed doesn't mean that the original parents have to hook up. First you have to see which parent has the good gene and which one has the bad one :noidea: The wife thats pregnant now could be parent with the good gene. Surely the kid from her second marriage would be a match.

ooooh goodness, this is too much for me. I could never see myself getting knocked up for my ex-husband again...if I did, it would have to be through invitro or whatever you call that stuff. I could never lay down and have sex with him.

LAWD, this is a doozy...making my head hurt just thinking about it.

I would go with number two even though it would be easier for 1st husband to get second wife pregnant and have a baby. For entertainment purposes, #2 can get some stuff going.:)

LOL @ this whole story line.

Let me get this right. The ex husband DOESN'T want anymore kids. Are we to assume that he is just gonna go back on his initial decision to not have anymore kids?

If his decision is absolute, then it's a wrap. Option #3 is really the only option available. I'm certain that if he doesn't want anymore kids, there would be NO WAY IN HADES he'd have another with his ex-wife, just for a slim chance that their child could be an identical donor.

Then you gotta consider how the other spouses would feel about this.

The new husband MIGHT go with option #2 IF the wife feels really strongly about it and the ex husband suddenly changes his mind...

But he might also say, "Artificially inseminate AFTER OUR child is born, if time permits...cause ain't no way in hell I'm gonna let you sleep with your ex husband..."

The new wife would definitely raise unholy hell. She'd probably think, "He said he didn't want anymore kids. Why is he making an exception for his ex-wife, when I want the kids that he won't give me?" I don't think she would be too understanding of the situation at all.

I believe that if the husband doesn't stand firm on his initial decision to NOT have anymore kids, ALL the marriages in this story will end very badly...all over a risky act, that doesn't even guarantee success, or the 8 y/o survival.

Yeah...Option #3.

Unconditional love for ... the SICK CHILD should be the point of interest here. The rest is a matter of how you spin the plot to get therw. [Look at me hijacking CT's storyline :retard: ]

This is what causes the change of heart and the conciliation between marriages that would otherwise be disjoint and estranged.

LOL... on top of that... if the kid only has 1 year to live, option #2 won't work anyway.

You better add drama to this book. You know it want sell if it ain't no drama. Women and butt rumpers are your target sellers. They like drama in their reading story lines.

At first thought when I had this idea, I'm like, abort immediately and get pregnant with ex's child. I also thought/knew that idea would mean death of that marriage...just from the mention of it from the wife.

Yes, the ex-husbands new wife WILL raise hell. We all want what we want...but at the same time will a decent father basically sacrifice his child simply because of 1) his own selfishness and 2) new wife's wants? I think the average dude WOULD say Yes if it would save the first child. AND I think the average dude WOULD talk to his ex-wife husband to push the point home...cause he IS trying to save the kid.

Oh...its gonna be a tangled weave...but y'all wish me luck on pulling it off effectively.

well I'll tell ya one thing...I sure can't wait to read it.

LOL... on top of that... if the kid only has 1 year to live, option #2 won't work anyway.

EXACTLY!!!! I doubt that time would even permit option #2 from even being a possibility.

And we ALL know that option #1 is out of the picture...lol. What kind of unconditional love is that? Sacrificing one child over another? That's a lose/lose situation right there.

So option #1 is a big NO!!!! And option #2 is way too risky to ruin more marriages and families over. All the more reason why Option #3 is the best way to go. Let God work it out.

Make it a feel good story, to where the families' dramas climax with divine intervention, so in the end, the child survives, and everybody is happy.

I don't know about "feel good". More like "so real it hurts to read." I want to make y'all go in and look/hug your kids and spouse after reading a chapter...cause you SO GLAD its not you.

But how real is it if the story is highly unrealistic?

explain where the unrealism is? If there was a good possiblity of saving your child...you wouldn't even "consider" having a kid with your ex? You'd just walk away, sit by his hospital bed and watch him die? I dont believe that for a moment. So again, explain where the unrealism is? All scenarios posted above would cross through your mind...
