ROTFLMAO @ Frat.

This is great!!!! Could you imagine the numbers if SU makes it to the game?

:read: :read: :read: :read: I was hoping Jackson for the football championship but it is what it is. Basketball as well. Houston is far from the Eastern division schools and I know they are pissed but it seems that some of them never supported the games while their team was there. The SCG should have had 40,000 each with the Bama schools being there plus JSU.

Tell the East to get over it. They had it on their side for 13 years, time to let the West have it on our side for a bit.

With 5 schools being 2 hours away from Jackson, that would have been the perfect location. If you want it to grow, thats where it needs to be. Folks from those schools would go, even if their team wasnt playing.

lol I know right but I know JSU fans are going to come. We are already in Houston. PV and TxSU as well. Alcorn is the closest school from the East to Houston. AAMU the farthest.

Closest to Houston

1) TxSU (DUH)
2) PV
3) SU
4) Gram
5) Alcorn
6) JSU
7) UAPB
8) Valley
9) Alabama State
10) AAMU

11 hours for AAMU, but it was 11 hours for PV/TxSU so I think New Orleans or Jackson would have been the best fit but as long as our players are well supported its all good. I'm there if it was in Jackson, Birmingham, or Houston.

Maybe if JSU gets that dome, then Jackson will be considered, but I am cool with it being in Houston.

Finally something that makes sense concerning the SCG. For me, Houston and New Orleans are the only two relevant choices located in the SWAC's footprint.

AAMU folks didn't show when the game was in their backyard so I don't think the increased travel makes a difference for them.

alot of PV people did so....outdrew A&M 3 to 1....the cold and rainy weather kept alot of fans in their hotel rooms as I saw PV folks I've never seen before at the game.

lol So did you travel from PV to Birmingham?

Bruh.... :smh: It was texas east when we all took over B'ham.

This is good news. tbf and crew are putting that ack right on ol' P88 lately. New AD w/ vision. Renewed vision for competitivity. :D

I'm happy. :) Good job houston (hsa).

I think part of that was the "We haven't been here in 50 years!!" factor.......LOL....

I still think the game should be more centralized. However, it was certainly time to take it out of B'ham.

what is "centralized" that offers competitive airport rates, top-notch hotels, rail system now, NFL, NBA, venues, close to 80% of the league, etc?

The SWAC is officially sipping CIROC now...

Houston had the bid they wanted so if the central cities could not offer the "perks" you go where your wanted.

5 schools within 2 hours from Jackson. It would be a event in Jackson. It wont be a event in Houston. In Jackson the SWAC will be the only show in town. In Houston The SWAC wont even get a article in the back of the paper. :smh: Name one SWAC event besides the Bayou Classic 05 or when SU comes to town has there ever been a crowd above 30,000 . Hell I could drop down to 20,000

Can you tell us what other cities put in bids for both championships/tournaments?

This is great news!!! Now I can attend the SWAC Football Championship and the Basketball tournament because it is right here in Houston! What makes this even better is that it is being held in two world class venues.

Look up the word centralized and see if the definition has any contingencies then get back at me. :emlaugh:
