She contributed to the foundation of "Da Music". Too bad most people outside of the culture only know her from samples from Black Box and Marky Mark. RIP Ms. Hollaway.
Disco's Loleatta Holloway dead at 64
NEW YORK (Reuters) – Loleatta Holloway, the disco singer best known for her 1980 hit "Love Sensation," has died at the age of 64, her manager Ron Richardson said.
Richardson confirmed on his Twitter account that Holloway had died on Monday after a brief illness.
"Another Legendary Angel Loleatta Holloway Gone to (sic) soon Rest in Peace Sweet Loleatta..RR," he posted.
Holloway was born in Chicago, where she began singing in gospel groups like the Holloway Community Singers and The Caravans before signing with Aware Records.
She released her first album, "Loleatta," in 1973.
In the latter 1970s, Holloway recorded a string of hit disco singles including "Only You," "Hit and Run" and "Catch Me on the Rebound."

I suffer hearing loss to this day from this song back in '86 due to the way Lil' Louis (French Kiss) "beat" this song at the party.
