Playing the second half without starting point guard and leading scorer Malcolm Campbell and unable to generate any offense, the Hornets fell in overtime, 57-54, to the Jaguars at Seymour Gymnasium.

"It's very simple. We were without Malcolm Campbell," ASU head coach Rob Spivery said. "He generates a lot of offense for us."

Campbell, who was suffering from bruised ribs earlier in the week and was questionable to play at all, could not answer the bell after halftime. The Hornets (12-11, 9-4) went with freshmen Alexander Oliver and Cedric Mitchell at the point in the second half.

But FYI, one would have been our leading rebounder.

A second is a player that Stoglin calls "the smartest player he's ever coached".

And a third would have gotten quality minutes in the paint, allowing Stoglin not to have to resort to a 4 guard lineup for about 15 games.


Now compare that to your PG being out for the second half.

The most important game is the next time we play. You lose to us and you're in trouble. When we win, we will be sitting nice due to the remaining teams on our schedule. We have UAPB, A&M and MSVU. We'll make the tourney and after our win over you, we will finish up 4-0. Now don't your azz go 0-4 and slip out of home court advantage. I personally don't think yall gonna make it to Birmingham!
